Did all in the old testament go to hell for not believing in jesus or hearing about jesus?

This is mainly for those holding to the christian faith.

Yep, but - take heart - I didn't ask such silly questions as "question4u" when I was 24 ... or 14 .... maybe 4. Yeah, that'd be about right: anywhere from maybe ages 4-8.

And LOL @ "Did Abraham go to hell?" Does Luke 16 portray Abraham as in hell? If not, then I guess not. That's why I questioned his age. Sounds to me like a 10-year-old.

I know what the bible says. I asked you a childlike question to get a childlike answer. Now if you want to answer the question please do. Well let me ask another question for you only. Who all went to heaven from the old testament without Jesus? Name me about 10 people, and tell me how they got into heaven outside of jesus? Give me your best educated childlike answer, I think I would have like to speak to you when you were a child. So please bring the child back and give me the answer you would have then.

A person asks a question. If you have nothing to contribute and brings the topic off course, shut the hell up.

I know it is not difficult to answer for such a christian as yourself. If you can answer then I would tell you why, but if you can not then I will wait for someone else to answer my question. I will continue to practice my typing skills because I do need more practice:0

The christian faith is a Jewish sect. All they did was add a new testament to the Torah.

Christianity believes Jesus is the Messiah prophesied by the old testament. Judaism believes the Messiah is yet to come. The only difference between the Bible and the Torah is that the Bible has the new testament, which tells the story of the Messiah.
The reason Jews don't believe Jesus was the Messiah is because he did not fulfill the prophecy. The idea of a second coming arose, to explain why Jesus didn't fulfill the prophecy.

Alright, I'll bite, with the disclaimer that I am not the judge:

1. Lazarus
2. Abraham
3. Moses
4. Enoch
5. John the Baptist

Alright, there's five - I could name plenty more, but that those should suffice for your purposes.

Anyone who died before Jesus had to make animal sacrifices in order to be forgiven of their sins. Jesus was sacrificed on the cross, so people could be forgiven without making an animal sacrifice.
After Jesus died he went to hell to offer forgiveness to anyone willing to repent.
So no, they are not in hell.

...because it's his thread and you showed up to condascend to him. You don't need to be here if you're "above" the question. You're certainly a far cry from a defender of the faith.

Seriously, put down the Bible and strap some boots on. We could use you manning the 50 Cal on the choppers in Afghanistan. You have this...."I wish the world would just go away and die" thing going on....

I rather be a mormon then believe the above mess or be a catholic that will go into purgatory and then get out, according to annanicole reference people that went to heaven not hell, show that did not never go to hell, no were in the old testament says that the almighty when send the righteous to hell first and then they will get out after all that punishment. Why should they go into hell if they are righteous? Dont sound like a just God at all does it? So what if christians have to go to hell first because they are righteous but then in judgement they get to go to heaven would that be fair to you? No it would not. Enoch never believed in jesus but is in the glory of his maker, elijah did not never believe in jesus but is in the presence of his maker. If you are righteous why would you be judged just like a wicked person? That does not make since, but annanicole proves a point I dont have to believe in no jesus to get to heaven just hear the voice of my creator and obey is every will like abraham did or elijah did or enoch.

I rather be a mormon then believe the above mess or be a catholic that will go into purgatory and then get out, according to annanicole reference people that went to heaven not hell, this shows they did not never go to hell, nowhere in the old testament says that the almighty will send the righteous to hell first and then they will get out after they are punish for there righteousness?

This is mainly for those holding to the christian faith.

I named five people who lived and died under the Mosaic Covenant or earlier who went to heaven, or (more technically) Paradise. They either died before Jesus came or died before He was crucified. Certainly not a one of them died believing in the virgin birth, sinless life, death on the cross, resurrection, or ascension of Christ. What's your point? You think because they lived before all of that happened, and therefore didn't believe it as an accomplished fact, that you'll just adopt the same plan - even though it is now an accomplished fact? Is that it? "Enoch never believed in the resurrection of Christ, so I don't have to, either?" If so, babies and the severely mentally retarded go to Paradise, then heaven, and never pay a lick of attention to any "creator" (because of inability), so you could theoretically excuse yourself from that responsibility as well.

I have to admit but I agree
