Are there any Christians here who believe it's ok for a woman to teach men or hold positions of authority within the Church?

If so, I'd like to formally debate this.

Depends on what you mean by a position of authority.

If so, I'd like to formally debate this.

I like you. At least you are honest about the true face of your disgusting beliefs. Most of these other people will lie while choosing to not give women power at the same time.

I believe that it's ok for a woman to teach her male children outside of church, about God, but I believe the Bible is clear about women not teaching within the church.

It all depends on what you mean by position of authority. 1 Corinthians 11:5a says, "but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head" Paul would have no reason to say this if women were not praying and prophesying in the church.

You know the Weekly Stupid caps you off at 2 quotes per show, right? There was a change of policy. I know you're trying to go all-out for the last episode, but that's just a heads up. Also, you should be Jesse Lee Peterson's co-host.

k. We probably don't disagree tremendously on this, however.

I'd rather debate that than women.

I didn't ask why it doesn't taste as good as the real thing. Given that the real thing is real flesh and blood, I'm not really interested in tasting that.

What I asked is why it doesn't taste better. You know, better than a dry as$ cracker and some grape juice. Didn't Jesus say something about mustard seeds? Can we get some flavoring?

Not only do I think it's ok, I think the Church would benefit greatly by having MORE women teach men and hold positions of authority.

That greek word translated as "Silent" is also translated as "Peaceable" other times in Pauls letters

'Another objection is based upon the transitory character that one claims to see today in some of the prescriptions of Saint Paul concerning women, and upon the difficulties that some aspects of his teaching raise in this regard. But it must be noted that these ordinances, probably inspired by the customs of the period, concern scarcely more than disciplinary practices of minor importance, such as the obligation imposed upon women to wear a veil on their head (1 Cor 11:2-16); such requirements no longer have a normative value. However, the Apostle's forbidding of women to speak in the assemblies (1 Cor 14:34-35; 1 Ti 2:12) is of a different nature, and exegetes define its meaning in this way: Paul in no way opposes the right, which he elsewhere recognises as possessed by women, to prophesy in the assembly (1 Cor 11:15); the prohibition solely concerns the official function of teaching in the Christian assembly. For Saint Paul this prescription is bound up with the divine plan of creation (1 Cor 11:7; Gen 2:18-24): it would be difficult to see in it the expression of a cultural fact. Nor should it be forgotten that we owe to Saint Paul one of the most vigorous texts in the New Testament on the fundamental equality of men and women, as children of God in Christ (Gal 3:28). Therefore there is no reason for accusing him of prejudices against women, when we note the trust that he shows towards them and the collaboration that he asks of them in his apostolate.' - Congregatio pro Doctrina Fidei [1]

So you willingly support a book that endorses sexism? You do know this is 2012, and your beliefs are insane, right?

I reply... NO Christianity is NOT for you!
If you reject Christian MORALS then Homosexual acts are for you and your children!
If you reject MORALS then Abortion is for you and your children!
If you reject MORALS then Adultery is for you and your children!
If you reject MORALS then Drugs are for you and you Children!
If you reject MORALS then Pedophilia is for you and for your children!
If you reject MORALS then Stealing and Lying is for you and your children!
If you reject the MORALS of Christians then BIGAMY is for you and your Children!
If you reject MORALS then Murder is for you and your children!

Rational_Thinker9119 Your MORALS become what you judge the world on!!
Christians have higher MORALS!

Who said YOUR MORALS are correct! Hitler's MORALS were different then Churchill's. Churchill' MORALS did not include Killing Jews!

All people have there OWN MORALS!
The Christian has the Church as a guide for the correct MORALS!

The CORRECT MORALS are taught by God and his Church!
EXAMPLE: "Do not Kill"!
"Do NOT commit Adultery"!
"Do not steal"!
etc

Rational_Thinker9119 Christians KNOW they are CORRECT MORALS because they are NOT taught by men, but by God!

All you have to judge if something is MORALLY right is your own judgement.. Just as any murderer, bank robber, abortionist or pedophilia! You lower yourself to that of "ANIMAL"!
