"Pope Francis has good news for atheists. Jesus died and was raised for them as well. His redemptive embrace was for all, not just a chosen few.The choice to accept its reach is our own. The Holy Father was not teaching anything new. In fact, this hope that all who do not yet know God are not only capable of doing good - but will progress toward that knowledge of God by doing good - is ancient. The Church wants all men and women to be saved." [http://www.catholic.org...]

Awesome! Can't wait until I get invited to Pastafarian afterlife as well: a stripper factory and a beer volcano?? Count me in. Also, Islam, please let me into your afterlife. It sounds kinky as hell. 72 virgins? Phew, I'm going to be changing my sheets a lot, aren't I?

Last thought: who cares what the Vatican says? The Pope is infallible and he speaks to God. What the hell does the rest of the Vatican know? Are they infallible? No. So stop stealing Pope Francis' thunder. God clearly wants good atheists to live for eternity in bliss.

Is this an actual quote?

Umm... they recanted this quote the day after.

"The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ, all of us, not just Catholics. Everyone! 'Father, the atheists?' Even the atheists. Everyone!" We must meet one another doing good. 'But I don't believe, Father, I am an atheist!' But do good: we will meet one another there."

"One that accepts Jesus as his Lord and Savior."

That would've been epic.

Haha That's funny. Personally, I think the pope does not think it is right that moral Atheists who do good go to hell just because they hold different beliefs (condemning those just because they have different beliefs is childish). He said:

"Even the Atheists have been redeemed with the blood of Christ"

However, he probably got backlash from the Catholic community and had to back peddle. Now the "spokesperson" says things like:

They cannot be saved who, knowing the church is founded by Christ and necessary for salvation, would refuse to enter her or remain in her"

Basically, they have to keep this religion scam going to make more money. If even Atheists are saved, the Christianity loses members and thus $$$. Religion is just big business.

'Murica.

Fix'd. And 'Murica does exist; you must simply believe.

Which makes it imaginary.
