What is it that scares you so much about death?

The concept of simply not existing is unsettling. It's ultimately pointless to worry about it, though. You can't stop it (not yet anyway), and it's not like you can experience non-existence anyway.

An irrational attachment to consciousness.

Have you ever thought about death? About how your loved ones will feel? Can you do anything about that? Can you reduce their pain at your passing? What is it about the finality of death that scares you so much? 100 billion people have experienced it already. Why are you so special? Why are you more special than a microbe? Everything dies, why are you so scared of it?

If time is merely a fourth dimension of space then fearing that you won't exist in the future is no more alarming than that of not existing at work. Why would you fear that? Do you have something that you need to take care of at work?

Given that the current philosophy of time indicates eternal life then that supports the christian position of eternal life. I'm not sure where you intended to go with this but if it was to criticize Christians then it seems to have backfired.

That is so funny. If a fourth dimension exists then an afterlife exists. If the smurfs are real then god exists. Oh please.

Why are you? And if not, then get on with it.

It would appear as though obiwan's knowledge of the force also extends to internet arguments.

Old Obiwan is the best Obiwan.

Normally you shouldn't worry about death unless you know there is life and judgement after it!!

Even then I wouldn't be worried, because I believe I am a good person.

The only standards available, personal standards, human standards, decency standards.
