Hi all,

There are certain persons in this world who refrain from doing anything wrong. This is their nature. They do it from their own free will. They have an ability that whenever they are confronted with a situation, they always side with the just and good even if they have to suffer for it.

Why hasn't God made all of us like these people who willingly chose good over evil. Had this been the case we all would have free will and there would be no evil in this world.

Thanks.

I doubt it.

Yes, God could have made it so we would never freely choose evil, but we could chose evil without contradiction. Quentin Smith calls this logical determination. However, we would be internally and externally free to commit evil (we would just be logically constrained for good). This is similar to God with regards to how he is omnibenevolent, that means God is logically determined for good (his nature is good, so he cannot do not-good), but he is still internally and externally free to do evil (God would still have free-will if he exists). We could never chose evil and still have free-will. Surely, if an omnibenevolent being creates creatures, this type of free-will would be preferred. This should be self-evident. Yet, here we are, with evil existing.

Basically, there are 3 types of freedom:

(i) logical freedom
(ii) internal freedom
(iii) External freedom

If human beings lacked logical freedom to do evil - entailing that we never did evil - we could still be internally of externally free to do evil. The old "if we couldn't do evil, we wouldn't have free-will" myth is nonsense. Even if we did not have any type of freedom pertaining to evil, there are a lot of other things that we would still have the free-will to chose.

I know a person who is a teacher and would never succumb to any kind of pressure if somebody tells him to do wrong.

I mean to say even if an influential person tells him/requests him to help a particular student in the examination by way of unfair means, he simply does not succumb to the pressure.

He has been posted to a far off place because of this, he has to live away from his family, yet he is determined that he would never do anything wrong in his life.

Surely, many more persons are like this in our world.

Now, this person has complete free will over his actions. Why hasn't God made all the people like him?

What are the standards of humanity? I didn't know we had a global consensus of that which is good and that which is bad. In fact, it's hard to get a single family to agree on issues of morality, needless to say the entire world.

God created the decisions for people to do good as well as the decisions for people to do evil. This causes confusion in the eyes of both good and evil appearing people. God knows how to build the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil" very well.

I don't think many religious people think that that kind of "good" exists.

If they do it willingly so could you, there is an Islamic saying ,of one on the companions called Abu eddardaa that said what means: Knowledge is from learning and tolerance (or forbearance) us from getting oneself to be tolerant, and if a person seeks ways of good, he will be given good, and if he avoids the ways of evil he will be sufficed. No man is an angel, there are people who do efforts towards good and train their souls, and people who don't care much.

I doubt he made us in his image the way you understand it, but maybe physical image, but our natures are different we don't seek good all of us, most just seek fun and don't really care how "good", We aren't like the angels who always do good, and are always obedient to God's commands. and some of us are so corrupt they wouldn't see clear evidence. But it's true there are people who have a better nature, in the sense they are less likely to commit immorality and more likely to be obedient to God' commands by the nature of their character, and some other people may struggle with commands, but definitely , the first category can go sinful, and the second category can go saint, and God is Just.

He even knew how to blind you from knowing who you.

From knowing what? Why would "God" try to make me ignorant? That's stupid.

It's the way He planned to find His servant in the flesh of His saints and then have them killed by unbelievers. It might look stupid to you but God has bigger plans than what stupid people can understand.

I don't believe you.
That would be the result of the fact that borno is as loony as it is possible to get. He is so far beyond batcrap loony that he has his own loony universe where he's god.

Why hasn't God made all of us like these people who willingly chose good over evil. Had this been the case we all would have free will and there would be no evil in this world.

Thanks.

God created the decisions for people to do good as well as the decisions for people to do evil. This causes confusion in the eyes of both good and evil appearing people. God knows how to build the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil" very well.

I mean to say why hasn't God made us all in the way that 'we always seek good'. After all, God always seeks good and has freewill also. So, He should have made us 'in his image' truly.

Are these your friends, relations, fellow sect members you are talking about. Or maybe just the taliban? If most people were as you and millions of the permanently bewildered claim then there would be a human race, much less 7 freakin' billion of us. Get a GRIP.

Believing you're a president of the United States without ever experiencing being one is like Christians believing their saints of God without ever being a saint of God's.

I know I'm a saint who speaks for God and I've never believed I was the president of the United States because I'm not that ignorant or close minded as you think.
