Tell me would this work?

I found a new nonsensical religion, and declare the days I hate holy days.
And on those holy days I would miss work to take up active "worship"
Now the company I work for couldn't do anything about that because of Freedom of belief. I would also get paid in full. This would be surprisingly affective if I did it correctly. What are your thoughts people?
Turn around, go back.

This wouldn't work. Employers aren't going to acquiesce to a religion you just made up. You're not the first person to think of this.

Some employers allow a floating holiday to cover this. And there's always vacation time.

There's also the point that this is a governmental restriction, not a private one, and employers aren't required to recognize ANY holiday in a sane political climate.

As a Christian, I often have to work Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. On the years when I'm off those days, I don't get paid for them, so why would you expect special treatment for a new religion??

It would appear obvious but a fair amount of people take threads like these seriously.

It would make a sense if you were a religious , that this is a joke, but not if you're an atheist, unless you ignored how things really work in real life for religious people holidays?!

Jokes do not always correspond with real life.

Fair enough, then don't blame people for not realising it was a joke..

No it isn't. Jokes are funny.

Regardless, there's nothing wrong with this plan. Most employers are already equipped to handle these sitautions. It's called: Paid Time Off.
