If you mean "hell" as in the contemporary notion of it, then you have a lot of exegitcal work to do. Sheol/Hades are nothing like contemporary notions of hell. Vityually competent biblical scholars acknowledge this.

That's not "hell" as in gehenna. That's "hell" as in hades - the unseen world. Jesus's spirit went to Hades upon His death - and more specifically to Paradise or Abraham's Bosom, as it is figuratively known. "Hell" was an accurate translation at the time, but is less so now.

One gets out of Hades by prevailing against the gates, the entrance and exit. That's what Jesus meant when He said, "I will build my church - and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it" - the "it" being the building of it.
