Apparently, theres a new trend spreading in many English speaking countries where mega-churches centered around atheism are taking hold and growing in popularity.... The most famous incident of these took place in LA, but there have been similar gatherings in San Diego, Nashville, New York and other U.S. cities, all of which have drawn hundreds of atheists seeking the camaraderie of a congregation without religion or ritual.....

How do atheists feel about this though?

I couldn't care less; if people enjoy church but don't believe in god, I see no reason why they shouldn't make their own version for the social aspect.

I'm a little confused as to why you'd think atheists would have a problem with it; why should they?

As a non-believer, I have no problem with people of like minds getting together. I wouldn't go out of my way to attend an atheist "church", however. I'm perfectly content hanging out with my dogs on any given Sunday; and ever since giving up on religious belief, I have little urge to join groups of any kind.

More power to them; you'll never see me there.

No religious man has known the true invisible Creator so you could say that all God's created men are atheists. Religious men believe in false gods, not the true Creator.

Personally I think its dumb. I would rather join a knitting group if I wanted to have friends who are like minded.

Also don't want to see some lunatics trying to enforce an agenda, as atheism has no agenda. Its disbelief that's all there is to it.

I've been claiming for years that atheists are just as "religious" as anyoun else .. if not more . . . . the militant atheist = more in common w/ Islam and Nazism .. the religion of "no-God" = I am God / I AM my own God .. therefore any talk of the true and living God must be eliminated .. especially from the public square . . . . no surprizes here
And he (God) gave some apostles .. and some prophets .. and some evangelists .. and some teaching pastors .. for the perfecting of the saints .. for the work of the ministry .. for the edifying of the body of Christ .. till we all come in the unity of the faith .. and of the knowledge of the Son of God .. to a perfect (complete) man .. to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ . . . . Ephesians 4:12 .. http://dadmansabode.com... .. come and learn

How? atheism has no tenants all it is, is a position that any god does not exist.

By the way how do you equate " the religion of "no-God" = I am God / I AM my own God". Surely you see the logical error from jumping to no-god which means literally no-god to I am a god. After all no god means that there is no god ie. no-god = I am a person.
