I had a random thought while watching a movie. I was curious if anybody wanted to discuss a completely random concept. ( Easy answers to easy questions) I didn't think this all the way through, but did think it was kind of neat. Let me know if your game. Maybe I should have thought some more before posting! : )

I did fail to mention that to play the game you have to assume that god is omnipotent. Able to do anything. This is however a totally hypothetical question.
Belief in god or unbelief is not required to play. Just the "assumed" proposition of omnipotence.

Oh, wait... if an omnipotent god was real... then everything would be possible.
Omnipotent is a rather stupid word with a stupid definition. The notion contradicts itself.

I'll answer your question, but with a question.
God is omnipotent, what good would going back to the past to change it do for yourself (generally speaking)?

You just blew my mind, lol.

You know what........

Sure it seems to me that changing the past does seem like a logical possibility so the answer has to be yes.

But if you can change the past, and you do change the past.........

Maybe it's like diving by zero, and adding to infinities...............leads to absurdities ?

In terms of actual reality, can't prove something that doesn't exist.

As to omnipotence, if just immense power, still limited, then not so stupid, the word I mean. But I think the OP meant there to be no limits.

What?? I don't believe that...
My first response - no - was when looking at our actual reality, not the fantastical one the religious take as real, or even how "time" is looked at. Then I noticed/recalled the OP's parameter about a sky daddy with omnipotence.

Well, if space and time are really "spacetime" as Einstein said, and we assume that all space exists simultaneously, then all time would have to exist simultaneously as well. Yesterday wouldn't be before today, it would only be in a different location. All of time could be stacked like a new deck of cards.

No it's not possible for God to change the past. It's a logical impossibility.

Euphoric topic btw.

Logical laws are also reflected by nature. Again, you don't understand logic.

Maybe it is a stupid word, but the only one I had at my disposal. Had the question stood without that word, I would agree with you the answer is no. This is only a hypothetical question, and I'll try to reword it. If time travel was possible, could the past be changed? This isn't really a religious question. Perhaps I should have posted somewhere else.

I don't know if it has to be yes. Maybe by you "changing" the past, you are actually creating the future/present that you are currently in. Maybe if you didn't "change" anything in the past, the future would end up differently.
