Killing homosexuals, slavery, treating the rape of women as property damage, murdering children in the name of God, torture, and cutting off enemy soldier's d!cks for a wedding dowry? Fine.

Masturbation; evil.

Seems legit.

Please quote the Bible verses that say people should do those things. Inb4 no response.

Fine = morally permissible

Not specifically. "The Bible no where specifically forbids or denounces masturbation. It does, of course, denounce all forms of sexual impurity and fantasies that would involve adulterous relationships whether actual or mental."

Michal Was Caught in a Family Feud

Michal was the wife who found herself in the kind of family feud that many women face, except that Michal's family feud was on a scale that determined the future of Israel. She was a woman who was used as a pawn, first by her father, King Saul, and then by her husband King David in the Bible.

As the "bride-price," or dowry, for Michal, Saul demands that David bring him 100 foreskins from the penises of Philistine warriors. Gruesome as this sounds, it held great significance for the Israelites. First, it would prove David's prowess as a warrior. Second, because circumcision was the physical symbol of their covenant with God, foreskins would prove that David had killed Philistines and not some other tribal group. Finally, the collection of so many foreskins would demonstrate Israel's military strength to its neighbors.

Saul was sure that David would be killed attempting such a monumental task, thus removing a strong rival to Saul's kingship. Instead, David presented Saul with 200 Philistine foreskins and claimed Michal as his wife.

Ah, I see. So they're not divinely sanctioned penis trophies at all.

Dog, it would be refreshing if the fukking kids on this forum would stop flinging around the charges of 'retarded' whenever they can't think of something more intelligent and adult to say.

What? You think people didn't masturbate 100 years ago? I'm going to assume you meant 1,000 or maybe even 10,000 but even then you'd be wrong.

I am sure some did, but a minority. It was not obligatory like today.

I again have to assume this is what you'd like to believe? People masturbate all the time and they always have. Why would you think that "back in the day" would be any different than it is now with this?

Because we can see very clearly, masturbation was a disgusting thing only debased perverts did 150 years ago. Now it is "necessary".

"Onania, or the Heinous Sin of self-Pollution, And All Its Frightful Consequences, In Both Sexes, Considered: With Spiritual and Physical Advice To Those Who Have Already Injured Themselves By This Abominable Practice." - Book title from 1716

There are also various cultures with no word for masturbation, who are confused by even the concept.

Why is it disgusting? Even current apes masturbate. Can't get much more natural than that. There were/are probably still cultures that did/do human sacrifices. Just because a culture does/doesn't do something doesn't make it "right" "correct", etc. It just means they exist.

Isn't the removal of the foreskin simply the act of allegiance to the god of Abraham i.e. these philistine soldiers agree to change religion to that of the Jews?

Actually, no.

Saul sets his scheme in motion in 1 Samuel 18, requesting of David a gift of 100 Philistine foreskins:
Now Saul"s daughter Michal loved David. Saul was told, and the thing pleased him. Saul thought, "Let me give her to him that she may be a snare for him and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him." Therefore Saul said to David a second time, "You shall now be my son-in-law." Saul commanded his servants, "Speak to David in private and say, "See, the king is delighted with you, and all his servants love you; now then, become the king"s son-in-law."" So Saul"s servants reported these words to David in private. And David said, "Does it seem to you a little thing to become the king"s son-in-law, seeing that I am a poor man and of no repute?" The servants of Saul told him, "This is what David said." Then Saul said, "Thus shall you say to David, "The king desires no marriage present except a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, that he may be avenged on the king"s enemies"". Now Saul planned to make David fall by the hands of the Philistines. [1 Samuel 18:20-25 (NRSV)]

Well, human sacrifice is an interesting topic. We always seemed to ascribe that and cannibalism to our enemies, like the North american natives, while they at the same time ascribed that to us. In some places the priests would do ritual cannibalism or sacrifice, but it was never practiced by the general public in most places.
