Who else here is a neutral theist? I define neutral theism as the position that some sort of conscious being, mind, or God exists, but not necessarily the God from any particular religion...

I suppose. I prefer the term neutral theist.

Not the Christian God, but some type of fundamental mind.

That's interesting. So do you still reject many arguments for God (like the KCA) then?

So you're a brother now, for some reason I feel happy for you.

Well I understand you say it isn't God as described in religion but can you give more details on what you believe regarding God so far.

Well I fit into that category, many other deists too I suppose. But maybe your term isn't too bad; for example, I don't believe in a strictly impersonal God. I believe in a transpersonal God.

Would religious pluralism fall under that category?

This being might be, he might not be, who knows? The idea is just that some fundamental mind exists, what type of personality this mind has, and whether it cares about it, seems unknown at this point.

No-one, because it's a term you made up.

Non-sequitur. Even if I made up the term, that wouldn't mean nobody falls in that category. Deists fall under that category...

That is pretty much the way I see it.

I completely respect religion, but I recognize it for what it is, and what it is not regardless what name you give it or what doctrine you choose to follow.

Yes. I still reject those types of arguments.

You reject the arguments, or the conclusions of the arguments? So do you believe that ultimately a mind caused the big bang, but that the KCA is an unsound way of getting to that conclusion?

I'm not only "neutral", I'm a creative eclectic. Since I believe that all our ideas of God are just ideas of God (and are not actually God), we can adopt them or drop them as we choose. So given the circumstances, I will conceive of God whatever way produces the best result.

Deism is like a branch of Theism, mate. There are many forms of Deism, all supporting somewhat different thoughts, but the same general theme which is that God exists.

By *your* definition, I'm a "neutral theist", I do believe that conscious beings exist, all around me, on this planet.
