Must the two forever be at odds with each other? Or should we just ask whether the catholic church can ever accept homosexuality within it's priesthood? We should already know that pedophilia is a criminal deviance that can never be acceptable to the catholic church, at least in a a public way, but could it be that it is secretly acceptable to the catholic church.

If pedophilia hasn't been eradicated and it's never been unequivocally expressed that there is a will to eradicate it, then is it not logical that the church finds it acceptable.

And then, if pedophilia is acceptable then why such an outcry against homosexuals and lesbians and bisexuals? A double standard for priests? A perfectly acceptable double standard in the eyes of the catholic church? The reward they are granted by the pope for their devotion to remaining celibate heterosexuals?

Pedophillia is not any more prevelant in the Catholic Church than in any other section of society. The Catholic Church is a national organization that gets more attention than other sections of society where there are pedophiles.

I'm sorry you were abused by your Priest, Monty1.
