What is your God's relationship to the world? As a deist, I do not believe God meaningfully acts within the world.

How do religious people view God as acting in the world?

As a Christian, I believe that God interacts with the world including it's inhabitants. I would say in all practicality, since God created the Universe He also created us. And consequently is fully conscious of each one of us, and knows everything about us.

I think every time a person converts to Christianity (assuming it's a genuine conversion and not just an attempt to date a cute Christian girl), it's a miracle. God intervenes to affect that person's will, desires, emotions, intellect, etc.
