Why are so many topics directed at atheists, in this forum, instead of the Philosophy one?

Because atheists are all over this section of the forum. Not, interestingly enough, the philosophy forum.

If you'll look, over half of the atheism-related topics in the Religion forum are created by people who are not atheists. What do you think this suggests?

Well that is not really telling of anything. Aside from it being a loaded and begging question, What makes a topic Atheism-related?

Is this relation better understood in a Religion or Philosophy?

Let me attempt a more specific reasoning than idle chatter can accomplish.

Philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems, such as those connected with reality, existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language.

If the reality, existence, knowledge, values, etc... are in pertaining to God. Than it is religious.

So Religion can be said to be a subset of Philosophy.

Atheism-related I can only assume means something related to the validity of this statement "God exists". Being that it is a discussion of God's existence that would make it Religious. But the same discussion could most certainly be posted in the broader category Philosophy as well.

I imagine the trend to post it in Religion is for specificity. And because the discussion will sometimes bring about religious text and doctrines.

If it is a logical argument for the existence of God aside from religious practices, I think most do post such an argument in Philosophy.

Because the religious majority here (Christians) are called upon to kill us and stone us (Deuteronomy 13:9-10) and break our arms (Psalms 10:15). Since they can't do that literally, attacking us here is the next best thing.

The next best thing to physical abuse, is verbal abuse.
