I need help. I am Christian undergoing... family therapy... with God. I believe in him but...

THE EUTHYPHRO DILEMMA!!!

Are things morally good because God says so (therefor arbitrary), or does God say things good because they are morally good (thus meaning there is a standard even an omnibenevolent, now non-omnipotent God cannot break)?

A famous Christian argued that God is goodness, literally. If this is the case, then:

Can God control his nature. If yes, then God has arbitrarily chosen the nature of goodness. If he cannot control this, then he is not omnipotent.

These are silly questions.

Believing in God is a matter of choice, and of faith. Choose your God, and choose to trust and believe in that God, or choose not to. If your choices work for you, then it makes sense to stay with them, If they don't, then it's time for a change.

Arguing with or about various concepts of God is a waste of time and intellect.
