Would you include having no reason to believe God exists?

No, because a Theist does have reasons to believe God exists (or they wouldn't believe), and this is a thread about what would change a Theist's mind.

No, because a Theist does have reasons to believe God exists (or they wouldn't believe), and this is a thread about what would change a Theist's mind.

What would qualify as a good reason? The existence of gods can't be disproven, just as most supernatural claims can't be disproven.

By the way, this isn't some "you're closed minded" thread; I don't want you to think I have an ulterior motive for asking. I also don't think any reasons you give are anything I'll be able to provide. I'm just curious.

Ah, I looked through your profile and you're not a theist. Well, "what I said to you in my last post", but to theists.

God could be disproven if one can provide a contradiction in the idea of God, like there is a contradiction in the idea of a circle that is a square. There could also be evidence against God's existence, for example, gratuitous suffering (if we are talking about a tri-omni God). Many philosophers have arguments against God...

I am a theist do to anecdotal evidence. What would convince me is a scientific explanation to my anecdotal evidence.

The reasons why I believe God exists to be shown unsound.

At least that would be my position if I believed in god. I don't think most people on this site actually know/say their main reasons for believing in God, I know what once I realised my own reasons for believing in God I dropped that belief very quickly, might be the same for other people.

You are asking for physical evidence of nonexistence? Can you think of anything that doesn't exist that can leave behind evidence of its nonexistence?

I'm just saying, that's what people will say. It's their personal beliefs and they will be convinced otherwise when somebody can provide physical evidence.

I am asking for physical evidence of something that may or may not exist. The god I believe in, Yaweh, is a theory like evolution and big bang was. Something must happen to either make it true or false.
