Is Islam compatible with anarchism?

Why you ask? You're considering converting? :P

Perhaps.

However, if it is not compatible with anarchism it must of necessity be false as two truths cannot contradict each other.

Out of curiousity, are you religious now? What made you interested in Islam? I'm genuinely interested to know.

Ok, fair enough. My family is non-religious.

Really? It was me? Haha. xD Well firstly, an Islamic theocratic state ruled by Shari'a Law wouldn't be compatible with Anarchism, but I don't see the problem with being a secular muslim. Anarchism is about personal choice afterall. :D

I just wanted to know more about Islam, geez. I haven't decided to convert or anything. I don't see how wanting to learn more about a religion is unreasonable. Geez.

You also said that you were perhaps interested in converting to Islam. I repeat the question.

I'd like to add: Why look to religions at all?

Why not just take things how they are, instead of latching onto unsupported beliefs.

Faith itself is an idiotic concept. Whether it is compatible or not I do not see as important.

If I were religious, Islam would be my third to last choice, right after Scientology and Mormonism. Yes, I went there. It's that bad.

I wouldn't think so. Mohammed's life culminated in the expansion of an empire under his reign which spread across the Arabian desert, and encouraged his successors to do the same.

Now I couldn't quote it so correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the Koran tell us to kill infidels? That doesn't seem to hold up well to the non-aggression principle.

The Koran tells it's followers to kill infidels if they don't offer peace - but if they do offer peace, Muslims are supposed to accept it.

which is opposing/attacking Islam. watch out for those muslims who actually put their religion into practice now... Your supposed to be beheaded, and have your fingers taken off.

Not off I offer peace! Well, so long as those Muslims bothered to read those lines.... apparently Pakistanis haven't because its in Arabic, so they don't know what the Koran actually says.

I'm sorry. That never was my intent. :( I am genuinely curious.

I am concerned about the Jizya. It says on wikipedia that it is a tax and we all know that taxation is theft. Is it possible to oppose the Jizya and be a muslim? Furthermore, it says that the Jizya is levied by the Islamic state. Can you be a muslim and oppose the state?
