As a young lad, I was told that the Lord works in mysterious ways. However, I never expected the ways of God to be quite so enigmatic. In what can only be described as a freak accident, a 62-foot-high replica of Jesus was utterly destroyed by a strike of lightning.

I am voting for Innomen because of his intelligence, common sense, humility and the fact that Juggle appears to listen to him. Any other Presidential style would have a large sub-section of the site up in arms. If I was President I would destroy the site though elitism, others would let it run riot. Innomen represents a middle way that works, neither draconian nor anarchic and that is the only way things can work. Plus he does it all without ego trips.

The guy is kinda insane, brilliant, but mad as a hatter. Though actually his specific patron God is Aphrodite.

Hahaha! That's funny actually. I wouldn't doubt that there's still Greeks who worship the ancient gods though.

CONSIDER:

Romans 10:17
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

and;

Hebrews 11

1Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see

SO the enemy always wants us to use our eyes; on statues, icons, crosses, stain glass windows, cool video montages etc etc.

So I'm not in the least surprised that the Lord destroyed it.

If I take an extract out of Moby Dick does that provide an explanation for the statues destruction?

Actually...

Ahab: Speak not to me of blasphemy, man; I'd strike the sun if it insulted me.

Ishmael: Such behavior isn't Christian. In fact, it's downright pagan and heathenish

Ahab: From hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee. Ye damned Touchdown Jesus.

.... Oh. My. God. Moby Dick predicted the destruction of the Jesus statue. I'm not surprised in the least.

I couldn't careless about that staute of Jesus, I don't think Jesus would care either. I am not angry as in, "How dare you make fun of Jesus like that." No I honestly do not care about that statue of Jesus Christ, I care about the actually Jesus Christ who rose from the dead and is now seated at the right hand side of His father in heaven.

maybe the people of that area were worshiping that statue and not Christ so God destroyed it. It wouldn't surprise if that were the case; churches split all the time because there are people that worship the building and not god, getting too upset over adding cushioned pews, or music instruments, or painting the walls, or getting different colored carpets. most of the time they say they like keeping it 'historic' looking. and when you get the pews anyway they leave. Its really stupid how this happens in churches.
One act of Rebellion created all the darkness and evil in the world; One life of Total Obedience created a path back to eternity and God.
