I first saw the movie on the BIG screen back in 1973ish when it hit the theaters.

I found it very entertaining and interesting and still do.

It was a most excellent play on the BIG screen and is still quite enjoyable on the smaller screens in personal homes.

I have watched the 2000 version and didn't much like it as the Jesus character (Glenn Carter) is creepy and new age. Maybe that was what they had in mind as the days of the "Jesus people" are in our past and the new age was beyond that.

Ted Neeley played the bible character Jesus very well in the 1973 version in my humble opinion.

Anyone else have comments or opinions on these colorful, musical art forms?

Historic play and film as it introduced the idea to American masses that this is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius which it is. Inevitable that it would become a classic in our culture. You can't get rid of "Ages" very easily as they are centered in our collective unconscious as much as any spiritual idea can be in the material universe.
