What is it about religion that makes most people attracted to it? Why do most people need it?

In this time, questions concerning God are still philosophical because it's an idea and not something that actually exists.

Debating against the existence of God is not a winnable fight. Apparently this is the only category where opinions are scientific fact.

I think many people seem to have a need to have a greater power than themselves looking down on them!

I don't want or need that, sufficient unto myself, etc!

We do have a Creator but none of God's people except saints, prophets and chosen believers have gotten to know Him yet.

You found your way here. Perhaps you should look into yourself for answers.

Why do most people need it?

I would guess for the same reason most people need love, companionship, and shelter. The need does seem to be universal.

In this time, questions concerning God are still philosophical because it's an idea and not something that actually exists.

I take it you expect this opinion of yours to be taken as fact?

Debating against the existence of God is not a winnable fight.

As is debating anything which has no evidence.

Apparently this is the only category where opinions are scientific fact.

No. I find the thinking that "opinions are scientific fact" to be very, very common in atheism.

Just because you're an ex-Christian doesn't mean that there isn't a Creator who used saints, prophets and believers to participate in His gospel.
