The Bible has alot of miracles In it. Has anyone ever seen a miracle in real life?

Personally, I'm convinced miracles of that scale haven't occurred, ever, or atleast not since Biblical times. Perhaps some of you have witnessed miracles in real life and can convince me otherwise.

Please, feel free to share your stories of real-life miracles that are Bible-esque.

ALL miracles ( things that happen that can't be explained by man ) are from our Creator because He planned them all before any visible world appeared in the mind of an observer. Here's one miracle story out of the many that I have witnessed since I've known God over 35 years now.

Besides getting me sober and stopping me from smoking three packs of cigarettes a day, the very first miracle that God asked me to pray for was in 1989. My family and I had planned on moving back to North Dakota from San Jose, CA in a couple weeks so I got them interested in going on a drive to Carmel and Monterrey, which was a Sunday. I had a 1982 Toyota Tercel that had been a great car with very few problems in the past. Once we drove around Carmel for a while and came to the junction where an old Spanish church was, I decided to go on a drive south from there. We took a quick peek at the map and it showed a long winding road through valleys between two mountain ranges. Greenfield was south and east from Carmel towards central California.

The first few miles we saw ranches on both sides of the road with huge houses on them. After that, it was a barren drive with no traffic and just a few ranches tucked up in the trees at the base of the mountains. It reminded me of driving in central North Dakota where you can drive for an hour and not meet any cars. Everything was going great when all of a sudden the car started vibrating badly. I suspected the left half shaft right away because a year earlier, I had to replace the other shaft after it broke and put a hole in my oil pan. I did the work on replacing it because I had a lot of farming experience. I knew how to repair universal joints and learned that once they start spitting out bearings, they need to be replaced immediately or you can have serious problems with other parts of the machine.

I pulled over to check it out. I grabbed the shaft and pulled on it and bearings came out. It was wobbling so I knew we were stuck there. I wasn't about to drive and end up with a shaft going through the block of the car engine which I learned can happen. I got back into the car and told my wife and kids we had to walk to get help. Our boys were 4 and 5 years old and it wasn't too long ago that we had to carry them all the way across San Franscisco because they were too tired to walk. They didn't like their strollers anymore so we expected them to walk with us. That was the worst day I ever had with them because they were quite heavy at this age. My wife and I had to carry them back to the Bart station from the popular tourist area where the piers were.

With this in mind, we declined on that walking together idea so I told her I would walk and they could stay in the car. The look of fear came to her face and said she wasn't going to be left alone in the middle of nowhere. She thought a stranger might mess with her and the kids while I was gone. We had no way out except to wait for a ride that we hadn't seen since we left Carmel.

All of a sudden, I got this strong desire to ask God to fix the half shaft. This was given to me because I never would have thought God would fix cars. I remember Jesus healing people but not fixing anything. I turned to my boys and wife and told them we were going to pray to God for him to fix the half shaft so we could go home. After I prayed to him, I started up the car and drove off. It was vibrating badly just like it was when I stopped. But I got this overwhelming confidence that it was fixed so I kept driving and within a mile or so, I noticed the vibrating was easing up. The more I drove the better it got and by the time we got to Greenfield, I had forgotten about it. We had a long trip back to San Jose but since it wasn't vibrating anymore, we went home without dealing with it. I had this confidence that everything was okay.

It was working so good by the time we got back to San Jose, that I didin't bother to look underneath the car to see how God fixed it. I never did check it out and we drove that car back to North Dakota and I used it in the ranching business that her father and I partnershipped in. I welded a hitch on this car and used it to haul machinery and loads of fertilizer and other things behind it. The business didn't work out very well so we moved back to San Jose where I had my old job waiting for me. I drove that car back and forth to work for another year and a half before giving it to my oldest son who had just turned 16. We had put over 60, 000 miles on that half shaft God repaired before I gave it to my son. He knew about this miracle but most people don't believe, even if your wife and children witness it. My son drove this car for another year and a half when he finally called me up to tell me he was having the brakes overhauled for $600. Then he told me the mechanic wanted him to replace the left half shaft that God fixed. There was no rubber boot left and it was totally dry of grease and wobbling. I told my son to drive away from that mechanic, then buy a set of front brake pads for $25 and put them in himself. Then I told him God already fixed the half shaft so he doesn't have to worry about it.

A few days later, he called me up and said he borrowed $1,000 from his grandfather to pay for the brake job and replace the half shaft. The car wasn't even worth $1,000 but it was too late to say anything else to him. Kids just don't have faith these days, do they?

I saw David Copperfield do that in Atlantic City. Though, to his credit, at least Jesus did it for free.

Good story! I think it's pretty fascinating that your car just started up like that, and def sounds like an interesting miracle, if that's what happened.

I am looking for more bible-esque type miracles, but appreciate your response nonetheless!

Hahaha I was waiting for someone to say that. As soon as I posted it I was like "oh wait, David Blaine did that once". Although David Blaine didn't do it in the sea from a boat.

Is walking on water any different than driving 70,000 miles on a broken drive shaft? These miracles of God were meant to get us saints and believers to trust Him for everything.

I have many other miracle stories to tell that are even more remarkable than this one.

Everything that can't be explained in this world comes from our Creator's mind ( thoughts ). What you observe in this world is not our true reality. The broken half shaft on my Tercel lasted 70,000 more miles before my oldest son had it replaced by a mechanic who said it was broken. He saw it as broken but the illusion of it going for 70,000 miles can't be explained other than God did it.

That's okay, though. What if it's good enough for me?

I mean, I've travelled extensively overseas, but some people never do. I can tell them it was good for me, but how do I know it's good for them?

So why do I need to live in what you want to call reality? What if illusion is good enough?

The illusion is all we get in this first age. However, some of us have been taught about the future and how God's created people and beasts will enjoy His new illusions in Paradise ( New Heaven and Earth ) where His people will experience many visions and dreams.

Thank you for accepting me as I am, BoG. You're actually the first person of religious belief on DDO to really do that.

You and I will both be seriously dead, at least our bodies will be. The energy that made our bodies move, speak, hear, taste, smell, touch and feel emotionally leaves them to make them appear dead. That's where our memories of this world will stay, also. So it makes no difference whether we believe in God or not or even speak for Him like we saints and prophets did in this world. None of us will remember living in this first age. Many people want to believe that they will see their loved ones in Paradise. it's very difficult to tell them that we won't remember living in this world before our bodies die. We won't remember dying so when we awaken in Paradise, everything starts anew.

By the way, you're welcome my friend. I accept anyone as a friend because I know who you really are without a body.

I notice you're a blues guitar player. I'm finally learning the blues after playing the guitar for 49 years. I played classic rock songs in two bands but didn't get into playing the old blues style. I really enjoy it.

Tell me about your guitar playing and anything else you want to tell me. I love to hear stories about my friends.

As I mentioned in my thread about our previous property, which had a 'miracle' field. It came to media attention after 'visions' of the virgin Mary were seen and subsequent 'miracles' were claimed! Even my frozen shoulder was 'cured' by our field! However being very sceptical, I believe all 'miracles' have a wholly natural explanation like the body's own healing powers kicking in responding to pleasant vibes. Although the human body seems to occasionally have the power to heal itself, even against all the odds, amputated limbs don't grow back, nor are the dead raised!

its a fairy tale, a story. read fiction books you got "miracles" there too. not bais your intellect on fairy tales you are wasting time. see what i mean a miracle in the Quran - https://www.youtube.com...

it gives you 4 examples... skip to 1:40 when it mentions the Quran about Pharaoh information that they couldnt have known at that time of the prophet... this is what i mean by miracles not fairy tales.

What's the point? A miracle can never be proven.

See BOG's anecdotal post (well predicted by Envisage!) if you want an example.

Personally, I'm convinced miracles of that scale haven't occurred, ever, or atleast not since Biblical times. Perhaps some of you have witnessed miracles in real life and can convince me otherwise.

Jesus walking on water. That's 1

its a fairy tale, a story. read fiction books you got "miracles" there too. not bais your intellect on fairy tales you are wasting time. see what i mean a miracle in the Quran - https://www.youtube.com...

it gives you 4 examples... skip to 1:40 when it mentions the Quran about Pharaoh information that they couldnt have known at that time of the prophet... this is what i mean by miracles not fairy tales.

Good story! I think it's pretty fascinating that your car just started up like that, and def sounds like an interesting miracle, if that's what happened.

I am looking for more bible-esque type miracles, but appreciate your response nonetheless!

Is walking on water any different than driving 70,000 miles on a broken drive shaft? These miracles of God were meant to get us saints and believers to trust Him for everything.

I have many other miracle stories to tell that are even more remarkable than this one.

Well, the thing is, in regards to driving on a broken drive-shaft - I don't know much about cars. So idk exactly how damaging a broken drive-shaft is. Also, idk how broken it really was.

On the other hand, walking on water is pretty fantastic. That's something that I know for a fact can't be done by normal humans. So to hear someone walked on water is much more fascinating to me. Even turning a couple a loafs of fish and bread to feed thousands is more fascinating than a broken drive-shaft.

I do think your story is pretty incredible, but I wouldn't put it on par with walking on water.

How does one discern a miracle from the inexplicable, BoT, and what gives anyone the authority to pronounce one way or the other?

I suppose it's up to the perceiver to decide the difference. My whole point is that I've never seen anything even slightly as miraculous as the miracles that occurred throughout the Bible.

I watched the magician DYNAMO ' walking on water ' on the tele'.

Are you saying DYNAMO is the long awaited now returned jebus?

No, unless it was in the same setting - i.e., in the middle of the sea. We'd also have to check to see if he used any objects to assist his feat, since in the Bible Jesus apparently did it without any help from material objects.

I suppose you are right. That's what sucks about it all. I was hoping there'd be some experiences other members have had that would be inspiring. Ultimately I think you are right though, they simply can't be proven unless it's happened to ourselves, and even then there might be another explanation rather than just jumping to the conclusion that it was a miracle.

See BOG's anecdotal post (well predicted by Envisage!) if you want an example.

Yup. Saw that. Fully agree.

I wasn't there to see Jesus walking on water but I witnessed the bearings falling out of the universal joint on the half-shaft that I grabbed on to and shook to see how badly damaged it was. Once the bearings fall out of a universal joint, it is broken. It shouldn't have gone another mile without completely breaking apart. The first half-shaft that broke a year earlier ended up putting a hole in the oil pan under the motor and the car only shook for a minute or so before it broke.

It was totally inexplicable how that half shaft stayed together for the next 70,000 miles. I could believe someone walking on water before believing that a broken half shaft could last that long without it breaking completely apart.

If you can believe a written story in a book about Jesus walking on water and feeding 6,000 people with two fish and three loaves of bread and not any other miracles that happens daily in this day and age, then you are one very deceived person. I have heard hundreds of miracle stories by God's chosen believers since I started preaching the gospel to find them and become friends with them.

If you want to hear miracle stories, I can write a book about the one's I witnessed myself and the one's God's believers have told me about. You think walking on water is a miracle but that's only a miracle story that no one has ever witnessed. it's only a story written in a book with no one around to tell us if it was true or not.
