So, you still don't understand what Harris said. Why start another thread with the exact same subject matter?

Disagreements with his statement, are best handled in the thread in which he made such statements. Call out threads rarely serve any useful purpose, and are disallowed on DDO.

You could also challenge him to a debate on which is better to eliminate.

Sam Harris (to my knowledge) is not a member of this website.

You could also challenge him to a debate on which is better to eliminate.

Considering Sam Harris is not a member (to my knowledge) of this website, that would be somewhat difficult.

Sam Harris has the right to freedom of speech as anyone else in this world but some groups of people in this world HATE freedom of speech. They would rather listen to their lying pastors who have been telling them lies from their pulpits.

Yep, I think pretty much anyone can get what Harris meant by that... except DJR, apparently. He hasn't said what he thinks it means, which seems to me like a nice way to avoid answering for it.

Bitterness is the spiritual equivalent of physical cancer. It will eat you up from the inside. Let it go DJR. Nothing here is that important.

Petty is not pretty.

Harris' Law - If one would prefer religion be eliminated than rape, they probably have an illogical disdain for religion.

So, you still don't understand what Harris said. Why start another thread with the exact same subject matter?

What did Harris say?

That if he had a magic wand, he would abolish religion instead of rape.

Maybe if your prophet didn't say moronic things, I wouldn't be criticizing them.

So what does DJR mean when he says you don't understand what Harris said? Seems to me you understood it quite well. What does he think the comment means?

Yep, I think pretty much anyone can get what Harris meant by that... except DJR, apparently. He hasn't said what he thinks it means, which seems to me like a nice way to avoid answering for it.

Well, we seem to have a dispute about what Harris actually said, even before we get into what he meant. What were his actual words? Or better, point me to a link.

Can't find it yourself? Great research skills you have there. That explains a lot.

Bitterness is the spiritual equivalent of physical cancer. It will eat you up from the inside. Let it go DJR. Nothing here is that important.

Petty is not pretty.

That's quite the reading comprehension problem you have there. I would suggest some remedial reading courses.

It's your life dude. Waste it on petty bitterness if that suits you.

Me? I'm in a hammock with my cutie-pie wife. I have an ice cold glass of her special strawberry iced tea, and while she's telling me she's surprised you claim to be in your 50's, I'm nuzzling her creamy neck.

My question was to TN05, not you. Go find whatever makes you happy and nuzzle it. Trust me, it will feel better than bitterness and envy. But as I said, it's your life.

Yes, making things up as you go along is your forte. How is life in your parents basement, btw?

My parents, both gone to be with their Savior now, always told me, if you are dissatisfied with your life, change it. So you can wallow in pettiness and bitterness, or you can find your equivalent of a Mrs. Ethan and enjoy.

Bitterness only tricks you into believing you are trapped. You aren't. If you don't know, your life isn't unlimited. Seeking out a religious site so you can insult strangers who are theists leaves a poor implication about how much value you place on your life. I'm having a great time. Why shouldn't you?

Odd how you equate my laughing hysterically at your ridiculous nonsense to bitterness. Again, I think you're comprehension skills are out to lunch.

Not your laughing, your behavior here. Your first comment to me in this thread was an insult. That shows your rancor must have come from a different and previous exchange. You're obviously angry and bitter, and your anger may even be justified. But my point is that bitterness, justified or not, will hurt only you, and not its target.

For anyone who has not seen the first thread on Mr. Harris, (when I first posted here I was one) your position has been totally undermined by your behavior here. Ask JL if he's happy with our exchanges so far. I think he'd say yes.

Stay bitter and keep losing. Or let it go and be happier, more rational, and win sometimes. Either way is ok with me.

ps.
I have to say here that I was very impressed with Rev's argument in the original thread. He is bright. His position is wrong, but he argued an ultimately incorrect position convincingly. Wish he'd (or she) be on the religion board more often.
