See if you can come up with your own list - I am hoping this is a list we can all generally agree upon.

1. Thou shalt not use personal attacks
2. Thou shalt not use exclusive appeals to redicule
3. Thou shalt justify one's claims and reasoning when asked to
4. Thou shalt define one's controversial terms before making an argument based on them
5. Thou shalt learn basic logical fallacies and avoid them where possible http://en.wikipedia.org...
6. Honor thy fellow posters with at least the respect that you would like to receive in kind
7. Thou shalt never generalise without providing evidential backing
8. Thou shalt keep posts tidy and most concise
9. Enter thy conversation with intention of learning and understanding
10. Ignore and do not entertain those who sin against these previous nine commandments until they amend their ways

I just came to the religion forum because people say its explosive.

Aye, with support for stickying.

I wonder if we should consider adding a commandment to either retract the claim or concede in some other way if you cannot justify your claim when asked. We usually see people disappear or resort to "because I say so" instead.

Logical fallacies are often interpreted to one's own advantage.

Evidence according to who?

8. Thou shalt keep posts tidy and most concise
A tidy post is the sign of a sick mind.

Pretty sure number 1 should be

I am the lord, thy mod. Thou shalt have no other mods before me.

...but seriously I think these are good rules of conduct for any forum.

If there were more grown up mature people in this world and this forum you wouldn't require rules for not being teased like a 10 year old that still believes in santa.

I treat others as I like being treated.

Try and tease away as I personally view it as amusing when others try and tease me.

or whatever you choose to call the cause of your discomfort.

I have seen many post on religious forums that they came there for a ESCAPE from the REAL world and they didn't need the stress that those such as myself placed upon them.

That is part of the problem when you have those that leave the RESPONSIBILITIES to their God's/god's and sci-fi theories. They never GREW up and learned to be responsible for themselves.

Most are still hanging onto their security blankies and blaming all but themselves for the way their LIVES are going.

I watched the movie Leap of Faith with Steve Martin last night as I was playing on the net as I have watched and listened to it a few times over the years as it is a GREAT example of the religious money making game and how people will line up with their CASH and credit cards to be told what tickles their ears and excites their eyes.

That is why fantasy and fictional reality is such a great $ELLER.

Who in their right mind would want to pay to be told the Truth that didn't tickle their ears and make them feel ALIVE for a TIME?

That is why I AM of the FEW. I don't want to or CHOOSE to be lied to and deceived.

If you think and believe that I AM not in my "right mind" as I prefer being told the Truth even if I don't enjoy the answers or situation that it presents.

That would be a great example of the Truth that is not of this world.

I prefer being WHO I AM in Truth then being of the confused and doubt plagued popular crowds.

then you are saying that the love you know and ?understand? is void of Reality as it is lacking the Truth that would make things clear.
