If you ever believed in him or still believe in him, why did\do you?
I was raised to believe in him and still do.
I will change my sig weekly. Week 4.

Fun fact of the week
Clumsy alien Jar Jar Binks was introduced in The Phantom Menace for comic relief, but he was initially a two-faced mercenary who was to betray Qui-Gon Jinn, a Jedi Master played by Liam Neeson.

Joke of the week:
Nerd 1: "Why can't you trust atoms?"
Nerd 2: : "Cause they make everything up!"

Are you referring to only "God" or religion in general?

I know God so belief isn't necessary for me.

When I believed in a god, it was purely because I was indoctrinated.

I was taught to believe in God. I no longer believe in that god.

Now, I just see "god" being used as a bookmark to flag our ignorance or provide hope for the hopeless.

I was raised in and followed Christianity as piously as one could in a rather liberal area of the country. I think the polarisation between my faith and the culture of the area lead me to become kind of an asz about it so as I matured I decided that I needed to evaluate my faith and decided that I'd do without it.

Because I don't believe every thing is meaningless without purpose and that the chemical combinations that create the appearance of nature are random.

It looks like we have something in common, John. I don't believe in that either, but still don't need a god to believe in. I think the OP is asking why you believe.
