This place is called debate.org. It follows logicaly that the people here like to debate about things, religion included. It doesn't follow that people here must be believers.

That is where their belief system starts out..... It's socially harmonizing state, where people feel easy to be within a circle of their match. We like our matching circle & we strive to support it.

You don't believe in science??? You don't believe in recording observable events/trends looking for patterns and then retesting those results to verfiy accuracy?

It honestly scares me how your kind thinks, especially in elected office. Do you not trust western medicine? Do you trust the technology you use everyday? Because it's all the product of science.

You don't go into the science forum because you are science illiterate and you know that what ever biblical stance you'd take people who know science would shoot you down. But I don't mind. You need the home feild advantage here in the religion forum, not that it really helps of course.

As I have said many times before, I make no apology whatsoever for challenging the, 'you must be saved or else', evil dogma put about by some extreme Christians. It is abusive and nasty when aimed at children and the vulnerable! If it makes even one person think and question this ghastly apology for a belief that would be wonderful!

Religions have and continue to be a blight on mankind, destroying almost everything it comes in contact with, mostly the human mind, hence it requires huge amounts of discussion if we are ever to remove this blight from the world.

So, your level of stupidity goes well beyond not understanding evolution, you also don't even understand the definition of religion. Astounding.

Neither Christian or Jewish scripture professes disbelief in the utility that science has. Indeed, if you understand the scripture, it testifies of it! Science, when used properly and diligently with a zeal for isolating all variables can indeed even lead one to realizing what is ultimately real.

To identify as an "atheist" is like saying, "By my observations, I do not have any reason to believe in any type of objective truth or ultimate reality.". Very few people actually believe this sort of thing, because it can be witnessed through experience that there is some type of order or reason to our realities. There seems to be a causality. Are not physicists those who are obsessed with the nature of causality? Let us not think that religion and science are mutually exclusive, because they aren't. Integrity of faith, sincerity, honesty, purity of heart, not bribed away by luxuries, not corrupted by lust, focused on truth and compassion for all because these things are all intrinsically tied to each other! Do you think these type of values are arbitrary? Indeed, the ideal scientist would embody these things.

It is entirely pretentious to take the position of "atheist" as being the inherently scientific position. How many self professed atheists have ever actually performed scientific experiments? Certainly, many have. How many self professed atheists simply believe in something because they consider the source to be authoritative? How many of those same in the later group go around and attempt to destroy others who they see as doing the same thing? Truly, in the manner that you judge others, you so condemn yourself. You can't point the finger without having three pointed back at you!

The Holy Spirit as the spirit that leads into All Truth must be like the perfect image of honesty and sincerity of intention. Realize what the scriptures mean when it is written, "Sincerity of faith and devotion towards truth, and loving charity towards others is the way of life prescribed to you.". In the story of the good Samaritan, was not the neighbor to be loved the man who was beaten down and left for dead? There is reason behind these things. The ideal scientist would embody this mode of operating, the good scientist would strive for this ideal, and the pseudo-scientific would laugh, scoff, and mock these things without honestly performing any experiments of their own. They would rather take the word of the critic who made harsh judgement on a performer over actually watching the performance and formulating their own opinions.

Know who you are, and acknowledge The Truth! The Truth will set you free!
"There are trivial truths and the great truths. The opposite of a trivial truth is plainly false. The opposite of a great truth is also true." ~ Niels Bohr

"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." ~ Arthur Schopenhauer

This place is called debate.org. It follows logicaly that the people here like to debate about things, religion included. It doesn't follow that people here must be believers.

very true....

personally I wouldn't go in the science part of the forum as it does not interest me as I don't believe it...lol

Do non believers actually think they will effect the faith of believers...

You need the home feild advantage here in the religion forum, not that it really helps of course.

you believe the results others give you in science, you have little or no way to see what they observe is true...

You really are hopeless. You've turned science into a religion instead of the method that it really is to justify your ignorance. You clearly have no understanding whatsoever. Ever hear of peer review?

evolution is a religion, blindly followed by most of it's followers...

So, your level of stupidity goes well beyond not understanding evolution, you also don't even understand the definition of religion. Astounding.

religion...a pursuit or interest followed with great devotion.

lol...keep blindly following,,,lol

Oh how the deluded religious wish that were so, alas it is a forlorn hope and why non believers scare them so much.
These atheists aren't scared in the least of this god that frightens the f*ck out of them, they have to be seriously scary. LOL.
Now tell us you don't fear your god and go to hell, cos your god orders you to FEAR him and let's face it you don't have the guts not to.

Grace of God (or Gog, I wonder where Magog is?),

I can tell you that I'm an atheist and I haven't really studied evolution at all. I don't know whether it's true or not. Believing in evolution is not a prerequisite for being an atheist. Really atheism is just the lack of belief in a god. It means I haven't seen enough evidence to convince me that some supernatural entity that created the universe and for some odd reason, cares about my worhip of him exists.

Hey little fella, you have convinced yourself of the existence of gods, demons, giants, heaven and hell, if you've convinced yourself that I'm ignorant then I'm doing bloody well in your little fantasy world.
Never mind the end is nigh and you can shite yourself when it gets here.

People just kind of trust the scientific community. I don't have time to study every single scientific theory and it would take a lifetime to understand some of them, so we just trust these people who are extremely smart and dedicate their lives to studying these things are more informed than us and can get us closer to the truth. Hell, I bet you even trust scientists, when they say something that doesn't conflict with your belief system. They say the Earth moves around the sun and you believe it, though you actually don't know for a fact and haven't spent a lifetime studying it like them. It doesn't mean scientists are correct in these things, but you certainly can't blame people who have no time to study every single subject, for believing people who are experts in something, when they try to explain it in layman' terms for them.

Is that some sort of revelation to you? We must accept most if not all things on some amount of faith. I usually take the position that requires less faith. Both atheism and theism are things that require faith, however theism requires a lot of faith, while atheism requires very little. I'm a big believer in Occam's Razor.
