Should the U.S. keep printing "In God We Trust" on our currency? Explain why you believe as you do.

No, I do not believe that anything Christian should be put into governments anywhere.
To put it plainly, I believe that Jesus taught against partaking in the earthly kingdoms and to focus in on the only true kingdom, the Kingdom of God to come. We, as Christians and followers of Christ, are not apart of this world. Consider John 17:14:
"I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world." (NIV)
Also comparable to that verse are John 18:36 and Mark 12:13-17.

As Christians, we are supposed to preach the news of the coming kingdom to all of the earth:
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." [NIV] (Matthew 24:14)
How can we fulfill this if we promote an earthly kingdom as well?
"The afternoon came down as imperceptibly as age comes to a happy man. A little gold entered into the sunlight. The bay became bluer and dimpled with shore-wind ripples. Those lonely fishermen who believe that the fish bite at high tide left their rocks, and their places were taken by others, who were convinced that the fish bite at low tide." (John Steinbeck; Tortilla Flat, 1935)

When you have so many that TRY and believe in invisible things and made up theories you have to put something on the illusion of money to make it seem that it has worth beyond it's illusions.

God is a well known "name brand" that $ELL$ very well with the programed market place.

The in science we trust is also on the money in one form or another.

What if they put in deceptions and lies called good we trust?

Would that be better?

From a purely practical position, it will have to stay there. 73% of Americans are at least nominally Christian and conservative evangelicals vote in large numbers. Any politician who seriously tried to take that off the money would be voted out of office in a furor of moral outrage. Change minds first. We can worry about the labels after.

traditions rule even as they "evolve" in MODERN TIMES.

I find it amusing that thousands of years ago as a calendar would create, the people of those TIMES believed that they were a modern and advanced society.

They might not of had automobiles and cell phones,

But they did have their NEW things to excite and create JOBS for those that can't think for themselves because they would rather be lazy daydreamers and let someone or something else do the BIG thinking and be RESPONSIBLE for making the paradise of their daydreams and deluded desires.

WHO is this God that so many seem to trust in?

Seems that it's the God of money and commerce and creating JOBS for lazy daydreamers that require the puppet strings so they can ?live? and feel alive.

You of the many just keep trying to keep your delusional lazy daydreams going as ALL you have is your DREAMS.

Seems that trying to protect your deceptions and lies called good is number ONE priority and then you might figure it out later if you become a fancy talking parrot that trains and programs the other talking parrots.
