These two are intimately mixed in human affairs: often they are inseperable.
Care must be taken not to pounce on one side or the other.
Take the endless arguments about the historical Jesus.
Just what difference do they make to the universal appeal of 'The Good Samaritan'?
Ironically the tale in itself is a parable.
We know Oliver Twist and Bill Sikes never existed but they were very instrumental in reforming Victorian London.
History itself depends on the relative views experienced by those alive at the time.
Even the more solid bedrock of science depends on what is yet to be revealled.
And now neuro scientists question the workings and limitations of the human mind.
