To be eternally grateful for what God has given me, and to knowingly appreciate it as being an undeserved gift of divine grace.

I guess there are various things I would like to try but I think there are some things we can get rid of straight of a bat........

Baby cancer, parasites that turn children blind sh*t, earth quakes, flood, famines sh*t like that.

You could also create an existence where most people don't have to spend most of their waking moments doing things just to get the basics of modern life, shelter, food, clean water etc.

Like plants every where and it's fruit is lamb chops..........hey Ima God here I can do what the f*ck I want.

Oh heal the amputees............

Oh put more porn on the internet cause I just don't think there is enough.

And unicorns, got to have some unicorns, they are magical.

Construct your own idealised, inescapable fantasy prison?

Thank you, no.

Raised in a lethally hostile environment, we're a species adapted to compassion, cooperation, competition and problem-solving. That's visible in our entertainments and diversions as much as in our history and psychology.

No matter how you designed it, heaven would be terrible for humans, and humans would be terrible for heaven. You'd be better off filling a fish-tank with pond-snails and calling it heaven.

At least pond-snails would be content.

I think this post is in the wrong thread, Gritty.

(On the other hand, even if you put it in the right thread, I still might think it was in the wrong thread. :))

Well, that is your dream, not mine. I accept life ends when this body wears out. 'Heaven, for me, is being alive and enjoying life.

Also, do you believe people can go to heaven disabled? What about hell? If so, it seems like people with CIPA should have no fear of hell! Hopefully, your god is not as short sighted as some who believe in him..

It's pretty funny after I slammed you on your disability comment you feel forced to try and save some face by now going into better to enter heaven disabled............

You know what I find in the mind of a "fundie" they never admit they were wrong, they never understand, they just slide into something new and pretend the thing they got slammed on never happened in the first place.........

My dream would be that no deity or afterlife exists, and when we die we cease to be. I think in all probability that dream will come true.

It's no wonder you are so confused by the Earth.

You have been given everything by God, and you certainly didn't do anything to deserve being alive, let alone being alive in a country where you have internet access.

Yet there are many who are blessed just as much as you, or even more, and are still unsatisfied. Truly, if you cannot find heaven here on Earth, no amount of luxury in the afterlife is going to enough.

The attitude that I described is one that is healthy, and has a great deal of utility here on Earth. Surely, it is the unfaithful who do not appreciate the unmerited favor that they have been given who are in manifest error. It is they who are the confused ones.

You know what you are going to realize from sitting in a dark cave for 10 years? The futility of detaching oneself from causality. Everything you do has intended and unintended consequences. To be paralyzed over the consequences of your actions is a form of error. As the Buddha said, "The three poisons that lead to suffering are attachment, aversion, and ignorance.". Transcend, and understand how the first is also the last. Understand how the Lord of All Worlds is also The Faithful Servant of All. Realize how The Ultimate is greater than any conceptualization you have of it.

There is a middle path that comes with accepting God's forgiveness, sovereignty, and grace.
"There are trivial truths and the great truths. The opposite of a trivial truth is plainly false. The opposite of a great truth is also true." ~ Niels Bohr

Obviously, the issue of whether an unborn human being deserves life is nonsensical.

No unborn human being can ever be worthy or unworthy of anything. He cannot deserve life precisely in the same sense he cannot not deserve it.
