I've got pretty strong views on this subject, so much so I choose to limit myself on what I say here.

Are you living under a theocracy?, or would you like to live under a Theocracy?, what's the pros and cons?, perhaps you know someone who is?, how would living under a theocracy affect your life?, is it Christian?.

These are some questions that spring to mind, I'm sure there are many more.

For many it must be like living as a prisoner serving a sentence, for a belief system they could never commit to. and yet for others it is seen as "simply divine".

What about the World council of churches (WCC) If anyone can provide a list of participating religions, It would be much appreciated, but for some reason I haven't found the list is easy to come by, not that it surprises me.
From what I understand the Catholic church (church of Rome) do not participate, because they assume the role of being the "Mother Church", but that's another thread. or is it ?

Although not the worst, theocracy is one of the worse forms of government. I see it as especially problematic when one religion gets favoured above all others and everybody is expected to follow that one religion and abide by its rules. If you're Hindu and living in a Christian theocracy? Too bad. You're expected to follow the Christian way of life. Same goes for any other belief system. So yea, I agree with freedom of religion and theocracy goes against that, often leading to the persecution of minority groups; Spain and the Spanish Inquisition to use a historical example and then modern Iran to use a modern example. Both are examples of oppressive theocracies.

Are you living under a theocracy?,
No.
or would you like to live under a Theocracy?,
NEVER.
what's the pros and cons?,
Pros: None.
Con: You are forced into believing something, your freedom of speech is severely impaired, and if you disagree, there are harsh consequences.
perhaps you know someone who is?,
Nope.
how would living under a theocracy affect your life?,
I would fight against the system.
is it Christian?.
Depends if the religion worshiped is Christianity. Being Christian means that the State recognizes the religion of Christianity as the deciding factor in laws and bills. It does not have any moral connotations to go along with it, contrary to what you may believe.

No, but a society which is good as resembling Nazism.

or would you like to live under a Theocracy?,
Perhaps, yes.

what's the pros and cons?,
Pro: Guaranteed freedom for my beliefs, freedom of religion, no pressure for idiotic modern things like looking good

Con: "Perhaps" bad rulers

perhaps you know someone who is?,
Sort of.

how would living under a theocracy affect your life?,
In a good way I think. It could be easier to avoid bad and do good.

is it Christian?.
No.

No. And I'm grateful.

or would you like to live under a Theocracy?

Hell fvcking no.

what's the pros

None, at all.

and cons?

No freedom of religion, expression, cannot make simple self choices, and 9/10 it goes against the religion's beliefs.

perhaps you know someone who is?

Sort of. Fallen out of contact with her.

how would living under a theocracy affect your life?

It would make me kill myself.

is it Christian?.

It is impossible to have a truely Christian theocracy.

A BIG Thank you to jharry for providing the WCC list and link. - well done !

"For its member churches, the WCC is a unique space: one in which they can reflect, speak, act, worship and work together"

Is the WCC working towards a "one world religion"? with a common world wide belief system, where as the worlds population will "act and worship together", in a "Theocracy"?, with the Church of Rome (Not listed) acting as the "Mother Church".

A theocracy will almost certainly be a brutal dictatorship, that would be my main objection to it.
I am voting for Innomen because of his intelligence, common sense, humility and the fact that Juggle appears to listen to him. Any other Presidential style would have a large sub-section of the site up in arms. If I was President I would destroy the site though elitism, others would let it run riot. Innomen represents a middle way that works, neither draconian nor anarchic and that is the only way things can work. Plus he does it all without ego trips.

Are you living under a theocracy?

Yes.

Would you like to live under a Theocracy?

No.

What's the pros and cons?

Pros: Standardized ethics.
Cons: Manipulation, conjectural interpretation, elitism, obsoleteness, and ordained brutality.

Perhaps you know someone who is?

Most people in the Western World outside of the Netherlands, Greenland, and maybe France.

How would living under a theocracy affect your life?

It helps make everything just that much more retarded and surreal.

Is it Christian?

Purportedly, but there's also substantive evidence that it's Jewish, Pagan, or Satanic.

Or maybe it's just continuing a tradition of ecumenism that is nearly as old as the Church itself.

Well that is why I posted the link and list. I think this tells us a lot about the-false-teacher. One of two things.

Either he knew the list was easily available and chose to deceive us.

or

He never bothered looking. He read or was told about this sinister plot by the Catholic Church and he bought it hook line and sinker without.. He seems to have been under the impression that this was some secret shadowy organization bent on world domination, and it may also show how bad he wants it to be true that he will believe it and then spread it as truth.
