If I were to come along and murder you while you slept (I am not saying I am going to, but bear in mind the possibility ) has a crime been committed?

So you are popping in and out of existence on a daily basis? Lol.

Every time I sleep ... I don't cease to exist ... I enter an altered state of consciousness.
Fatihah: It's like your mother making spaghetti and after you taste it and don't like it, you say "well my mom must not exist". Not because their is no logical evidence but because she doesn't do what you want.

This is actually a good point that most people don't think about. From your own experiential point of view, what is the difference between being asleep and being dead?

Nothing as far as I am concerned.

We currently do not know what occurs after death so such an event would be unknown.

We know what occurs when it comes to everything that we identify as being "us". We could continue speculating that there is something more which we are unable to identify, but I think that would derail the thread.

Fair enough.
