VR, having seen you argue dishonestly, disrespectfully and without accountability for months, using precisely the kind of rhetoric you're using here, having seen you bait, strawman, shift criteria, I believe nobody here owes you a substantive response until you answer some questions yourself.

VR doesn't hate atheists. He loves himself.

The way VR's game goes is:
1) begin by insulting a class of people and saying they can't meet your standards;
2) set a test that you alone can evaluate, with criteria you can shift;
3) bait your target group into wasting large amounts of effort on response, meanwhile singing the Shania Twain song "That don't impress me much";
4) shift your evaluation criteria to dismiss their responses on any pretext;
5) always resist any accountability for this process by dismissing anyone who demands better, via the circular reasoning of step 1;
6) ignore independent commentary on this process; and
7) never account for any claim you make.

They are narcissistic fools who are deluded into thinking they are wise, and I pity the mentally ill, especially knowing the justice that awaits them for their sin.

Narcissism is a psychological personality disorder described as a preoccupation with self or pride (in the bible). And mental illness is a more serious form of psychological dysfunction which was mistakenly associated with demon possession according to the Bible. They are not sins in themselves though both can lead to a person's downfall.

In fact the concept of mental illness is lacking in the bible.

People found mentally ill cannot be convicted by reason of insanity in our courts. Neither is narcissism a criminal offence.
So if you have to be a hater. Can you pick more qualified reasons deserving of your hate to help you justify and overcome your own irrational ignorance.

Huh? That's not much of a question. Do you mean to say, "where are the lengthy responses that prove or disprove something?" Well, here I am to save the day.
We need a question, however. Here's a good one. "Why do Christians have big hands and furry feet?"
This is not a good question because we all evolved along the same evolutionary line. We all have the same hands and feet. I know, I know, there are a lot of atheists that believe that eventually, in 100,000 years, the Christians will be gone because evolution will wipe them out. That may be true, but for right now, as long as Christians continue to embrace capitalism, they will continue to shine, as they continue to demonize science, yet embrace all of the technology from science that will allow them to live longer and longer. If you do any studies involving future technologies you will find that our life expectancies are going to increase astronomically in the next one hundred years, and that's coming from some of the main stream scientists such as Muchio Kaku and others.
Christianity isn't leaving any time soon. It is more likely to evolve into a more liberal viewpoint. I'm not sad about this. I hope it evolves soon. It has to. It cannot survive in its current condition, lest we find our nation devolving into a Middle East theocracy in which many of us thinkers will find ourselves fleeing the USA.
Christianity should be careful, however, for if they run us off, we will go to another nation. Our ideas will thrive, and we will build an empire, which will crush the Christian empire by the year 2100. At that point, the USA will struggle for its existence, much like the Persian empire is doing right now. If that's the case. the land of America will be relugated to a back water land of dying, violent people.

Depending on what you mean by mature and educated, I might qualify.

Mature, insofar as I don't resort to name-calling. I don't talk down to people or try to get a rise out of them. I try to stay friendly, or at least civil, and stick to the argument itself as much as possible.

Educated, insofar as I have a liberal arts degree from a Jesuit university, though that's not necessarily saying too much. I've done a lot of careful thinking and research on my own. But being educated doesn't make one's views correct (though it can help).

I'm curious, though, why you posted this thread. Do you actually want to talk to mature atheists? Or is it more of a rhetorical question designed to get a rise out of people? If it's the former - great, I'm here if you want to talk. If it's the latter, I don't think that qualifies as being "mature". Not assuming, though, just asking.

Liberal arts includes history, philosophy, and language. Which of these are you scoffing at? I don't think what degree(s) I have are important to the discussion, but you mentioned education, and I was throwing something out there to see if that's what you meant. What degrees do you have and why does it matter to the discussion?

Although you didn't answer my questions, so far it seems like you're here for the banter. That's fine - to each his own. But I'm just here for the arguments.

VR has a narrow and incurious mind, Miss M. Of the 138 debates listed on his profile, some 40% look like the same troll question with the same formula argument, ground over and over and over. Clearly it's not a question he's learning from, and he's surely not teaching anything. It's just tickling his ego.
