So I had Starbucks yesterday and offered my co-worker a drink of my macchiato and the conversation went like this:

Her: "Oh, I can't I'm Mormon remember?".
Me: "Okay...so what does that have to do with anything?".
Her: It's against my religion to have hot drinks like coffee and tea.
Me: .......
Me: .....Are you Serious?! Hahaha Okay, so what if you were dying of thirst somewhere and the only thing you could find to drink was a coffee drink, would you drink it?
Her: Well.......no, I wouldn't. I would die for my beliefs and then be rewarded for it.
Me: Yeeeah, I think my break's over.
[Walks out of the break room]
Me: Hahahahahahahahaha XD

And I thought I had heard it all with the craziness of Mormonism and other religious doctrines.

Joseph Smith plagiarized the findings of America Health society [AHS] which had around 1m members and was lead by the Kellogg family, and such like.

he called it "the word of wisdom" but couldn't give it as a commandment, even to this day it is not in their doctrine as a commandment, it got Promoted verbally after they were forced to end their organized matter practice of having Plural wives.

It doesn't even state they should not drink tea or coffee, it only refers to "hot drinks", but it serves to control

If you think that is a crazy belief. look into their "blood atonement" and the Mountain meadows massacre [MMM] when on 9/11 1857 their Freemason leaders ordered the slaughter of men women and children under a flag of truce.

I'm thinking Mormons glossed over this verse.

Matthew 15:11
Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

And this one.

1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen

Yea, I told somebody about that who had no idea previous. I then showed them a video explaining it and they laughed their a$s off. I pretty much made that person think the Mormons were even bigger nutters than previously thought.

My mom was given some mormon friendly coffee by the missionaries one time. idk what the deal with it was or what it was called. What I do remember is hot chocolate is allowed, and so are sodas.
It has nothing to do with caffiene, I think the deal was if it requires heat to be prepared then it is a sin. Since hot chocolate can be prepared at room temperature, it is allowed.

I'm not an expert, I just tried to listen to the missionaries and in the programs.

Mormon friendly coffee? Wouldn't that be room temperature? Coffee is already gross enough. No way do we need room temperature to make it worse.

You are full of very poignant opinions today, aren't you?

Something tells me that you're dealing with some sort of moral issue that relates to your religion.

If that's the case, then, good for you! :D

---

This isn't surprising. The closest religion to Mormonism is puritan protestant--they are quite similar, in fact, to the point that they seem like two versions of the same thing. So, naturally, they'd admonish everything that generates pleasure, such as orgasms, treating women with respect, acknowledging individual needs, and delicious casual drinks that are best enjoyed during social occasions.

Well, you're in Israel, right? So, I assume that, for the most part, you have access to Turkish coffee? I can understand how to the typical person, that'd just be a bit much.

You might actually appreciate American coffee--it has a whole lot more water and almost equal parts cream and sugar. It's like a soft drink, almost.

This.
I love my coffee. But only 2/3 coffee, then about 1/4 cup sugar, and fill the rest up with creamer, it tends to be good.
