The Romans as you know had a diverse list of Gods that they worshiped and had immense faith in, such as:
Jupiter - King of the Gods
Juno - Queen of the Gods
Neptune - God of the Sea
Pluto - God of Death
Apollo - God of the Sun
Diana - Goddess of the Moon
Mars - God of War
Venus - Goddess of Love
Cupid - God of Love
Mercury - Messenger of the Gods
Minerva - Goddess of Wisdom
Ceres - The Earth Goddess
Proserpine - Goddess of the Underworld
Vulcan - The Smith God
Bacchus - God of Wine
Saturn - God of Time
Vesta - Goddess of the Home
Janus - God of Doors
Uranus and Gaia - Parents of Saturn
Maia - Goddess of Growth
Flora - Goddess of Flowers
Plutus - God of Wealth

Even though their faith was unshakable, with the hindsight of history we agree that their Gods never existed and that the stories attributed to them where myths.

Will history treat current religions the same? If you think not then why?

It already does. The beliefs held by Christians, Jews and Muslims a millennium ago (say) aren't the beliefs held now.

There's a kind of dual fantasy told by the faithful: that on the one hand, the ancient adherents of their faith were just like them, even though they lived in a completely different world with different resources, knowledge and demands.

Meanwhile, somehow despite living in a different world requiring different decisions made from different knowledge using different criteria, modern adherents are still upholding ancient thought.

There will always be people who adhere to traditions.
There will always be people who are gullible and brainwashed by religions.
There will always be people who mature mentally and those who don't.
There will always be people who live in fantasy land all their lives.
There will always be children who believe fairy tales.

Rational adults understand that ALL Gods including the Hebrew God in the bible stories, are mythical.
