I see a lot of theists bemoan that secularism equals sexual promiscuity and 'perversion'. That assertion is false.

Millennials are having less sex than Generation Xers - http://www.cnn.com...

Millennials are less religious - http://www.pewresearch.org...

'Stated religious views on sexuality are clearly inconsistent with actual conduct. Researchers believe that efforts to repress sexual behavior can facilitate the opposite outcomes, including sexual obsessions and impulsive sexual activity (3).'

'More religious states have much higher teen birth rates and this is true even with income level and abortion rates statistically controlled (4).'

https://www.psychologytoday.com...

Theists can rest and breathe easy. Even though younger people are less religious, they are less promiscuous. They should be happy to know that secularism is not the cause of increased sexual activity outside of marriage.

But... how many men millennials will admit they have had sex with a hooker? I have, not afraid to say it. How many women keep their promiscuous acts in the closet in fear of turning off guys? I forget the article i read, but typically men don't like women that can't count the men they have been with on one hand.

However, there is one thing that i have noticed, being a millennial myself, sex isn't fun if i don't have an emotional connection along with the physical. I think we are just being more mature, religion aside, it is much more enjoyable following a moral of full connection - physically being attracted and emotionally being into the person your with.

There as a sexual identity known as Demi-romantic. It use to be under asexual, however, it was debated that it is not. I don't know. For me at least, if i don't have both physical and emotional connection... i don't enjoy sex. If it is only physical, like hookers, i can do it but have a hard time truly enjoying it... plus it takes a lot more time to finish (i have to actually really try). If it is only emotional connection, like having a great conversation, with no physical attraction made... i just can't... i basically turn asexual at that point. Both together, it turns to moment's i will never/never have forgotten.

I feel that Millennials are turning this route. That is just an asserstion though. My first paragraph explains my uncertainty to how truthful we are being. However, if it is the demi-romantic route "true romantics" ... i would say our morals without religion are strengthened.

Maybe some of that abstinence only school programs did have a positive effect after all...

I think you missed the point that said that more religious regions have higher teen pregnancy rates so it could be argued that abstinence programs increase teen pregnancy rates.

In other words, Christian girls are more likely to get knocked up than secular girls.

No I got it. I also know that abstinence only programs have been provided for this age group.

More likely to conceive or less likely to abort?

And yet red states create more stable families.

'Zuckerman cites a 1999 Barna study that finds that atheists and agnostics actually have lower divorce rates than religious Americans.

He also cites another study, in Canada, that found conservative Christian women experienced higher rates of domestic violence than non-affiliated women.'
