We clearly evolved from leprechauns.

Neither. Humans and modern apes had a common ancestor. That's already the established theory.

How have you not heard of that? Any high school class on biology or evolution covers that. We don't "evolve" from other animals (that are currently existing), we share common ancestors that at some point in history, split.

There is nothing wrong with early hominid species giving rise to some other species of apes. It would be truly astonishing and potentially world-changing if we found out that ALL apes evolved from early homonids, but thats not what the study is trying to determine. Infact, i would sorta be surprised if the precursor to humans did not split off and produce another species. Speciation occurs. This is not surprising, and the opposite, if it didnt occur, would be surprising.

So no, nothing is happening to our world.

Well, humans are apes so it would be more correct to say "Humans and other modern ape species share a common ancestor. But thats not really much of a point to quibble on. :P

Science is inductive, but its been established enought that changes in the theory in the future won't be a complete over all.

Humans did not evolve "from" apes. They have a common ancestor with apes.

Saying that we evolved "from" apes is akin to saying that your sister gave birth to you, a statement which (I hope at least) is false. You both share common ancestors.
