Please take this short 12 question quiz and let me know in the comments what your score was. I want to see if there is a correlation between scientific literacy & religious views.

Also, I know nothing about pharmaceuticals.

And I'm agnostic.

Better to post this in the religious forum for participation.

got all 12 right with a basic highschool education :D

but what was the significance of this? "Which over-the-counter drug do doctors recommend that people take to help prevent heart attacks?"

I guess to test a whole variety of science between astronomy and mediation.

lol of course the only theist on the page wouldn't get all 12.

I'm just kidding, you probably know 10 times more about science than I do. :)

I also got 11 out of 12.

Question 11, you have to really pay attention to it.

Bone marrow is the traditional focus, but that was NOT the question :)

Yeah I agree on that one too. That is a question about marketing and practical knowledge not science.

All of the questions are more or less, are you up on the news. Like Global warming and such or do you watch 'Bayer' commercials.

Most people got like six right, so that tells you something about the average person.

I think a science test would be:

General science - Defining accuracy vs. precision.
Chemistry - What is valence electron shell theory.
Physics - What is one evidence for the Big Bang Theory.

etc.

Those questions were more cultural references.

I remember how in Geography class the teacher told us that only like 60% of Americans knew where Mexico and Canada are...

Yeah, I agree. However, the Big Bang Theory does have evidence supporting it. http://www.talkorigins.org...

12 out of 12.

Easiest thing ever. I really don't see how anybody could get lower than 11.

Some of them were more applied/popular sciences than scientific literacy. If you don't know the chemical composition of aspirin, you can't answer the first question. It would have been more fair to use a term like "acetaminophen."
