Boston Dynamics also makes software for real time human character animation. It's used in simulators for troop training. They do good work.

That video is really cool, but why would you be more afraid of a constructive robot than one armed to the teeth that can go through any obstacles/terrain to kill you?

They'll build other robots?

Because 10 robots with weapons are 10 robots I have to destroy.

10 robots that can build, could create limitless robots.

Teach a robot to kill, and it's scary. Teach a robot to build robots, and it's iRobot.

That's terrifyingly dystopian, and some of the other robots looked useful and friendly. It seems like whichever country acquires the best robots could potential control the power in the world.

After watching SuperRobotWars' video post, I can agree that self-replicating robots have much more of a potential to end the human species than just plain ol' armed robots. Some robots in the future may even have nanorobots inside of them that aid in the repairing of worn down parts :O

I'm much more scared of the Star Forge.

Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
To relax their restless flight
Somewhere out of a memory of lighted streets on quiet nights..."
