By building too many solar panels and wind turbines?

Wind turbines could interfere with weather patterns, and solar panels could send us into a global cooling phase.

Maybe not, I haven't really thought about it.

1. Wind power would have little effect
2. That assumes GW is man made. If it isn't solar would have no effect.

Solar panels take up land, so yeah.

Furthermore, the Law of Unintended Consequences pretty much states that any infringement on the environment will be met with often negative and unanticipated repercussions.

Um... not likely.

The energy needed from the sun to power the all of human needs (at the current rate) is about 1/13,150 of what falls to the surface. So, if we are were 100% dependent on solar, we would only take away 0.0076% of the energy, an insignificant amount if it is the totality.

I think you're wrong.

Because solar panels are dark, so they suck light, like magnets.

And, they are inefficient, so if we can only use 20%, and they suck twice as much as they need to, we could use 0.076%!

Don't be fooled, the 'green energy' movement is really a plan to bring about the next ice age.

No, they don't "suck" light, like magnets. They absorb and do not reflect it.

And where did you pull these numbers out of?

Lets assume an albedo of 0% (reflects 0% of light back), but it converts 10% of the energy into electricity, so 90% is converted into heat.

New Asphalt has an albedo of about 5%, so it absorbs 95% of light and all of that energy is converted into heat. So solar panels are better than Asphalt.

http://www.pavement.com...

The ocean has an albedo of about 12%, making it absorb only a little more energy. So the solar panels are not really going to cause any difference in temperature from the absorbing of light.

It's all part of our war against Canada. We're trying to freeze the country over without them finding out that it is us.

The only case in which wind turbines could harm the surrounding atmosphere would be if they were placed within the direct route of bird migrating paths. This would cause (and does in some unfortunate cases) large numbers of dead birds. Careful planning, however, could prevent this.

Solar panels, of which, would probably be placed in extremely hot areas. Deserts come to mind, and I don't think there is much of an ecosystem there to 'destroy'.

If you'd like to compare/contrasts this with current methods of energy production, then both solar panels and wind turbines combined would have a significantly lower impact on the ecosystem compared to the mining of coal, the drilling of oil and the fracturing for natural gases.

I thought I'd share this while I'm at it.

Wind turbines are also useful if you are a secret operative, flying a helicopter, being chased by another helicopter, and trying to disable an explosive charge in another operative's brain.

The truth is, we have to keep pumping out toxic stuff(like carbon dioxide, because that stuff is crazy toxic... DONT BREATHE ON ME! BIOLOGICAL WARFARE!) to keep the temperature up. Otherwise, we'll all end up being Canadian or Russian, eh da?

If you activate enough wind turbines the planet actually starts spinning the wrong way and the resident EM field is weakened, allowing gamma ray bursts to get through the atmosphere and warming it up. So yeah, windmills produce global warming.
