Was the Ice Age Dark and cloudy? Also how much darker and more cloudy was it compared to today's climate. I am trying to research it, but Google insists on giving me results for Ice Age 4 the movie. Sources would be much appreciated.

The reason I want to know, is because I have a hypothesis that is semi-related. I think I remember reading about the ice age being dark and cloudy awhile back, but I can't find any material that either confirms or dismisses it.

I imagine you'd have difficulty finding a concrete answer to this question even if you weren't getting results for Ice Age 4; the relationships between climate feedback are rather poorly understood. However, satellite data suggests that optical thickness of clouds decreases with temperature [http://journals.ametsoc.org...] which would mean that during the Ice Age it would be darker compared to today's climate.
