Quran :

"then of that fluid-drop (nutfa) We created a leech-like clot" (Quran 23:14) .

Alaqa, in Arabic, has several meanings:

1. A leech that lives in ponds and sucks the blood of other creatures.

2. A thing attached or clings to something else.

3. Clotted or coagulated blood.

Dr. Professor Robert Winston:
Robert Maurice Lipson Winston, Baron Winston is a professor, medical doctor, scientist, television presenter and politician.

Islamic apologetics are always the most amusing to me. That "We created a leech-like clot" doesn't even remotely resemble a scientific observation of any kind.

The Quran is bullshiit. Apologists get away with claiming it's legit because most people don't much about the Quran or science.

The idea of a genie in a lamp is ridiculous. Compressing a fire spirit into a small volume would, following the Ideal Gas Law, increase the temperate and pressure inside the lamp. And as lamps are made of metal and thus conduct heat, you could tell if there was a genie inside it because it would be to the touch. They never seem to mention that part in stories.
