I am looking to do a debate on the factuality of global warming occurrence. I will be arguing pro, supporting the resolution that global warming is indeed occurring. I am looking for an opponent who will argue that it is not occurring, or that it is occurring, but not man made.

The problem is that there are no global warming deniers anywhere. The dispute over global warming is not about whether global warming exists. Every scientist agrees that the each has warmed by about one degree since 1850. No one denies that CO2 is a greenhouse gas. The issue of global warming is in two parts: what is climate sensitivity and what are the likely effects of future warming. Climate sensitivity is the temperature rise due to doubling of the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.

Those who say that there is a CO2 crisis use the lie that there are scientists who deny that global warming exists. Nearly all know that they are telling a lie, but the lie serves their political agenda of portraying their opponents as idiots. They have to avoid an honest scientific debate on the accuracy of climate models, because they cannot win that debate. Currently there has been no increase in the earth's temperature for 17 years, but CO2 has been increasing steadily throughout. The story of alarmists is that now they have the climate problem solved, unlike 15 years ago when they said they understood it perfectly but obviously did not. Now they say that global warming will return to kill us, but that it will probably remain on holiday for another 30 or 40 years.

Alarmists say that a two degree increase in earth's temperature would produce a disastrous collapse of the earth's ecosystems. The average temperature of Michigan is more than ten degrees (C) colder than Alabama. So it's highly debatable whether two degrees would be fatal.

I beg your pardon, but yes there are.

Your analysis based on two different climates is incredibly faulty. A rise in global average temperature of two degrees can indeed be disastrous.

LOL, the Heart Land institute. The same group that worked with Philip Morris to deny second hand smoke is bad to breath in.

Zero credibility with evaluating scientific data.

Yup.
