There is a football stadium sized asteroid that will do a close flyby on Halloween. It will not be a danger to Earth. Its trajectory is known and it will not collide with us.

Worryingly it was only spotted 2 weeks ago due to its very eccentric orbit. It's 300m to 600m in diameter. The one that explode over Russia 2 years ago was only 17m in diameter so this one is possibly 30,000 times heavier and travelling twice as fast so has around 100,000 times the energy. Fortunately it will never come closer to the earth than the moons orbit so won't even be visible.

Heh. "Worryingly".

What was that quote from Armageddon?

" With all due respect Mr. President. Our budget allows us to cover about 1% of the sky out there. And it's a big a$$ sky sir..."

A good film but not accurate.

The pan starrs telescope at Hawaii can cover the entire sky in a few months.

Yes, it's all over, pray to what ever God you believe in and delete your browser history.
