Simple question. What is driving global warming? CO2? The sun? Volcanoes?

Heat from the sun is being trapped by an increase in thermally-insulating gases in the atmosphere.

Recent studies indicate global climate closely follows sun spot cycles. They think this may be because cosmic rays are more effectively blocked by the Sun's magnetic field when it is stronger (indicated by more sun spots). This leads to less bombardment by cosmic rays, which leave trails of charged air molecules that can condense water under certain near-dew-point conditions that are inevitable in our air column. Fewer heat reflecting clouds means more solar energy strikes the surface, leading to higher temperatures.

...but I might not know what I'm talking about. Cloud chambers are voodoo anywho.

So in increase in sunspots means the sun's magnetic field is stronger. Cosmic rays going for the earth from the sun are blocked by the sun's magnetic field so a stronger field means fewer cosmic rays are reaching the earth. Cosmic rays condense water in clouds. Since fewer cosmic rays are reaching the earth, there will be fewer clouds. Clouds cool the earth, and since there are fewer clouds, temperature will go up.

Interesting theory.

Problem is that sunspot number has been pretty constant:

Cosmic ray count is unchanged.

Simple questions can sometimes be the hardest questions to answer such as "How old is God?"

No one knows for sure what is driving global warming. Only the Creator of earth knows for sure. You need to ask him.

Is this a question we should give up on or try to explore?

So we can make scientific discoveries by asking God?

God is the creator of scientific discoveries so he's the only one who knows why science exists.

Ok, but what should scientists do when they are trying to figure something out? Do their work? Ask God? Both?

They are doing exactly what God planned for them to do so don't worry about it. God needed his people to find the heavenly kingdom, which is totally invisible. Mathematics led man to the idea that we may be living in a simulation, which is exactly what's going on.
