Thermodynamics is fascinating

Is anyone else fascinated by thermodynamics?
It's so simple, yet so elegant (well, except for unwieldly standard states). The mathmatics is trivial, all you need is some multi variable calculus and partial derivatives, but the scope of application is nothing short of breathtaking.

(although it's not entirely accurate, it's still a lovely song)

Ohmigosh... That song was actually played in a first year physics lecture the year I studied it. Even then the original artists were of a past generation. Now they're a half-century forgotten.

I'm always astounded by how comic musicians like Flanders and Swann or Tom Lehrer can turn science into memorable songs. :)
