I just wanted to share an interesting fact about the pancreas.

Most dissections you do in school or uni are on organisms that died days ago, and have been preserved. When cut open you (obviously) get to see all the various interesting organs. However, one thing you don't see in dissections (Unless the organism is very fresh) is the Pancreas. The Pancreas as most of you will know, has loads of enzymes in it, so because of this, it gets dissolved before most people ever get to see it.

Now you know! :D
Meh!

Pancreases (plural?) are routinely displayed in butcher shops under the label 'sweetbread'.

That's interesting. According to Wikipedia they get treated with salt water and milk
