My ex-husband and I got divorced about a year ago. It started out very congenial, and we rarely ever fought over divorce issues so I never thought it necessary to get a court arrangement for the custody of our two kids, ages six and ten. We had just agreed to joint custody, so we cold figure it out on our own. But for the last few months, my ex has been constantly making excuses as to why the children need to spend weeks at a time at his home, giving me only a couple days every month with them. I don't want to be yanking my kids back and forth from home to home, but I do want them to spend the majority of the time with me, especially since I'm still living in the house they grew up in. I've been looking into some California family law attorneys who can help me figure out my options. I've looked into this http://www.blanelaw.com... but he doesn't look too personable. Does anyone know anything about this http://www.cadivorcelaw.com...? I really like what I've researched about this [LINK REMOVED].com/. Any advice on what to look for in an attorney??

How long did you say you were married to a partner of the same spouse again?

Least the divorce happened before the proposition, or we'd know what you were full of.

In any case, considering how the kids don't have both you're DNA, I don't think lawyers will matter as much as whose juices created them if you kow what I mean.

Are you on the sauce today, Ragnar? o.O "same spouse"? "you're"? "kow"?

Anyway, custodial rights actually matter more than biology. It will depend a lot on joint custodial rights and California law.

Personally I think Mrs. Stassinopoulos looks best for this situation. One firm is for personal injury, the other is a general practitioner. I always recommend the specialist. I'd go for her.

In my experience, custody cases are terrible affairs. Hopefully the two of you can come to an arrangement. Best of luck!

I typed that in roughly thirty seconds, wanting to get the post off before what I had to do in meatspace.

What's meatspace?

Anyway, to the poster: I don't think anyone here is qualified to give you remotely sound advice. You should probably talk to a lawyer. There are some law forums online that I visit sometime for help; you've seemingly been on the ball with that already.

On a personal note, have you tried talking to your kids themselves? They're a little young, and I am NOT suggesting you manipulate them in any way (my parents accused each other of "brainwashing" me when they had divorce fights), but maybe they can have some say in terms of living arrangements or can detail a preference or something? Has your ex told you why he is taking them so much? Hmm... Dunno... Good luck!

Where that excellent body of yours moves. As opposed to cyberspace, where only the data containing it's picture moves.

Yes I think I will look into a lawyer. I am not trying to brainwash my kids or attack my ex either, I just want to do this the right way. Does anyone know of a good southern California divorce lawyer? My friend recommended [LINK REMOVED].com to me.
