Two questions. Where does the myth come from the prostitution in Vegas is legal? And why are there so many prostitutes (well, more the average) in that city?

I was talking with a few people who all believe it's legal. I only recently found out myself that it's not. So I can scratch out "Visit Vegas" off my list.

Because it is legal 45 minutes away. The reason you have more is because when you legalize something one state over you get more of that substance. Similar situation there.

It Vegas, Sin City.

There's no use going there if you're under 21 anyways. :D

"Nevada is the only U.S. state to allow some legal prostitution,[1] in the form of regulated brothels. Prostitution outside these licensed brothels is illegal."

It's allowed within brothels in Nevada and Las Vegas.

Whenever I'm in Vegas, they always have thin rectangular trucks with naked women (censored) driving around the Strip.

It's definitely legal, but I'm not sure that I (or anybody for that matter) would use their services for fear of STDs.

It would be immoral to use them. Actually legal prostitutes do not infect people as they get screened regularly.

This might be strange, but I favor legalized drugs and legalized prostitution because of a show I saw on Fox News no joke.

John Stossel. I saw it too. Portugal was his example, yet they never legalized drugs, that was his mess up. His prostitution example made sense, but I still favor ilegalization.

Theres a legal loophole that escort companies use.

The prostitutes get legit jobs at escort agencies who come to your house to give you a lap dance. Completely legal. Then what happens after that is off the record.

Yep that was the show. I missed the first half hour of it though.

Because it's in high demand there. People show up to Vegas with lots of money and are in a state of mind conducive to the ladies making some money.

You gotta travel to the Bunny Ranch and other regulated whore houses which are located about 25 miles outside Vegas city limits.

Most street walking prostitutes are junkies, and in that vein not very clean. The one's located outside the city are regulated and tested regularly for diseases. The owners of such ranches only take the best, not toothless junkies. They're more like escorts than typical prostitutes.

Quite unlike street prostitution, there's not been one case of someone testing positive for an STD yet at those brothels.
