Anywhere you go people of all ages are on their phone talking, texting, etc.

Are parents even paying attention to their kids anymore or are they too wrapped up in their phones to give children the attention they need these days?

That's because it isn't. This person doesn't know what she's talking about.

A bigger issue is kids not paying attention while on their phones.

This

also, I would be more concerned about parents using the phones to be mega creepers to stalk their kids

Maybe they wanted a record of what was being said?

I hate people who grocery shop and talk on the phone, mostly because I hate grocery shopping, and am in a really bad mood while I'm doing it, but I really hate it when people are checking out and are on the phone, and barely acknowledge the cashier - just pisses me off.

Indeed, but have you talked to someone for a long period and he kept using his phone while trying (or pretending) to listen? Or you talk and he has earplugs with music on? It's catastrophic.

No, I would never put up with that.
