Greetings to all and sundry.

I need to survey a quantity of people (at least five) whom have immigrated to Canada. It occurred to me that if I placed the survey here, it could also be a bit of a lark for those of you whom take it.

Attention, though, I only want people who've immigrated to Canada to take the survey. : ) And I do need the answers...

However, I realize that some of the questions may be a bit too personal for the viewing of an entire online community (of course, you could PM the answers just in the spirit of helping out a chap in need. :D ), and so please be as vague as you are comfortable with. I do need at least five people to answer.

It's a short survey - should only take five minutes or less.

Thanks to all whom participate.

Question 1. Why did you immigrate to Canada? (as many reasons as you feel comfortable divulging. Ie. Job, refugee etc.)

Question 2. What country did you emigrate from?

Question 3. Did you immigrate to Canada as a family?

Question 4. How did you travel to Canada?

Question 5. Why did you feel Canada was the right country for you/ how did you hear about it?

Question 6. Was your former career recognized in Canada, or did you have to start afresh?

Question 7. How tedious would you describe the application process as being?

Question 8. How did you feel about Canada as you initially arrived? / Were the immigration officers cordial?

Question 9. How do you find out Standard of living as compared to your old one?

Question 10. Did you struggle with a language barrier?

Question 11. Do you have nicer/larger living quarters?

Question 12. Do you view your future as promising? For your family?

Question 13. Did you receive any assistance from the same ethnic group or anybody?

Question 14. Anything you miss terribly about the old country/ any regrets?

Question 15. Do you have any advice for new immigrants?

I guess he's trying to see how good Canada is or something. I dunno. I'm not an immigrant so I can't answer.

Very helpful, tkubok... -_-

It's a statististal online survey, chaps. Once done, I'm to tally the answers (roughly) as compared to those of other immigrants from the various sites that I frequent. It's a prescribed method by an online course I'm taking. It also is a test as to how many people will seriously respond, and how many will jest. ; )

I'm an immigrant... but how on earth are you going to analyze the data when all the questions are open-ended? Good luck!

It's merely on the general trends, I guess. I'm not quite sure how the tallying and comparing of open ended questions is supposed to work, but maybe it'll all come to together in the report. If you could fill out the survey, that would help me abundantly! I'd only need 3 more... lol
