It is disheartening to learn that cheerios had so many racist pigs who commented on their commercial with a black father and a white mother on YouTube that they had to turn off the comments.

So much for the American "MELTING POT". For some it always has been and continues to be the "MELTING POTS" just as long as they don't mix. It is so anti american that those sick f's need to move to Pakistan or somewhere else they don't tolerate interracial marriages.

I wouldn't blame America for this. Every nation has a few people like that. Just because a lot of racist comments are made doesn't mean there is a huge racism sect making them. It could as likely be a few people. Napoleon said that 10 men or are speaking is louder than 10,000 who aren't.

Thinking you are right, I took a look for a recent poll.

As of half year ago 84% of whites approve of interracial marriages. 96% of blacks approve.
+-3% error.

16% of whites against or indifferent is still too many. i also wonder how many responded they don't mind but would have a different reaction if it happened in their family.

Ok, my faith in the melting pot mentality is mostly restored. Thanks,

Well... It's likely that more than 10 of that 16 are indifferent. Likely that it's not an issue to them so they don't care to have an opinion about it. So it's likely less than 5% that are actually against it, but we'd have no way of knowing.

Ok, my faith in the melting pot mentality is mostly restored. Thanks,

Racism will forever exist. But that does not mean that we have to remain victims of ignorance and intolerance. Some are just too afraid to mix their race with another because they fear being extinct. And that is something that some people find devastating.

Approving of integration and interracial marriage does not exclude racism.

Or racist attitudes by the way. =)

I loved the "Gracie" ad. That kid is adorable. All 3 make a cute family & a nice example of a biracial one at that. It's a shame that so many were offended by the first ad. To me, it was just reality. We live in a modern society and biracial couples do exist. Biracial families have been around for a while. Cheerios isn't going to destroy us with the ad. On the contrary ... they celebrated love & family!
